This is most often caused by a battery that does not have a full charge on it. The low amperage available from the battery causes the contacts inside the starter relay to weld themselves together and allow the electric starter motor to continue to run even after the starter button is pushed. Always start out with a fully charged battery and you will not have this problem.

If the waverunner is performing normally as far as throttle response and top speed, then the rooster tail not shooting as high as it used to indicates there is a restriction in the nozzle for the rooster tail, not a problem with the ski. Unbolt the rooster tail nozzle from the steering nozzle and inspect it for debris.

What does the alarm (display) say is the problem? Normaly you will get a specific error like Water TMP or Exhst. I am guessing exhaust and with that it is most likely the catalytic converver has become loose and lodged further down the exhaust.

Sounds like your vent tube from gas tank is blocked causing fuel starvation. if its a 96WVT then rite under the seat by the latch are 2 tubes sticking out with a piece of hose to hold it in place, make sure they hav'nt slid down

Open your front hood and take out the bucket, you will see a mess of wires or harness if you will, locate the single blue connector, disconnect. Now you should have a red LED on in the inst pack, hold mode button till it asks for code then enter a new code. thats it dont forget to plug connector back in. You can also bypass the lock so let me know.

Is your accelerator pump working?

Need to check fuel pump pressure at the fuel rail and make sure there is no water in the fuel.

You need to find or purchase the remote and have it programmed at the dealer. It's a 5 min procedure

this is not accidental, some water is ejected through the exhaust system!

Try flushing the engine out with fresh water,on land, to see if sensor trips alarm.Make sure your water lines coming from the rear pump are not clogged.

Hello. These waverunners have a problem with throttle cable corrosion. When the cable corrodes you get that reving and lack of control
replace the cable and solve the problem. J.

what you need to fix up to solve this problem is to check on the power supply connected to the started (switch unit on and off ) and make sure that the battery is in good condition

because it is always the problem of the starter trace the wire down to the power unit to see if all wire are in there proper position if not then you will have to release any that has loose it position with care please you will have to note how you are removing the old wire when replacing the new one to avoid wrong connection

try spraying gas in the carbs if it starts your carbs might need to be cleaned the float might me stuck not letting fuel in

un plug the line going to the bottom of the hydrolic cylinder put it in a bottle and try to raise your motor it should push the old fluid out into the bottle

I have a Yamaha fx 1100 that starts real slowly the battery is fully charged but the bike sounds like its not got alot of power going to the starter can anyone help solve this also battery terminals are clean and not corroded

It could be. Do a compression test to ensure that each cylinder is achieving compression, and ensure that the engine does not make awkward noises during cranking.

If the engine was stopped manually, chances are it was not affected at all by the water. Change the oil, however.
