1200 yamaha wave runner exhaust light keeps coming

The exhaust light must be blinking. However, running or operating the engine after the warnings had been activated, the light will continuously on. In this case, cool down the engine b stopping it. otherwise, it may result to a serious damage to the engine.

Have an FX140 jet ski.

Sounds like you have either a dead battery in the ski or a loose batt cable that has arc'd. Check both pos and neg cables at both ends and make sure bathas a good charge. if all good there you ccan rule out the security system by simply rapidly pushing the starter button as fast as you can for about 5 sec, if your lock is on you will get a small kick from the starter and may need to get your remote reprogramed. could also be your solenoid and real easy to check, follow pos batt cable to elec box, remove 4 phillips head screws and put a meter or test light on that side to verify power, then do the same on the other side while pushing start button, if its getting 10 or more volts its going to be your starter but highly unlikely. if no voltage its may be solenoid which 99 times out of 100 is the guilty part. or a bad start stop switch assy. you can jump solenoid to rule out starter with a pair of pliers on each post of the solenoid . but before u ddo all this check the fuses!

I have a 2006 yamaha

Hello

Install the engine shut-off clip if the starter doesn't turn over. The clip is a safety mechanism that should be attached to your wrist with a lanyard. It also attaches to the left-side handlebar -- under the black engine shut-off switch. It will cause the engine to stop should you fall overboard.

Check the fuel tank if the engine starter motor cranks, but the engine won't start. If it's empty, fill it. Release the throttle lever as you start the watercraft.

Check the bendix. The bendix is the little gear and spring thing on the end of your starter. Heres how it works.

When power is applied to the starter motor the motor starts to spin fast and the bendix is set up like a screw. So when the motor spins that little gear spins outwards to the flywheel and engages with it.

So I think your problem lies there. Look at that gear and then apply power to the starter motor and see if it is moving, not just spinning but moving in and out. When you give the starter power it should move out, then when you stop giving it power it should move back in.

See if that gear was always against the flywheel the starter motor would always be spinning whenever the engine was running and would wear your starter motor down really fast. Thats why it works like that.

SPLATTERS OR FLOODS WHEN TURNING

I had a similar thing happen on a jet ski I was restoring. There was a mouse nest in the water box. Ran fine straight ahead but when you turned a corner it would block the passageway for the exhaust gases to escape the water box. The pressure builds up in the exhaust system and makes the motor shut down like it is flooded or out of gas whenever you turned a corner. Once you straighten the machine up the pressure escapes and it runs fine again. The bad news is you may have to pull the motor to get the water box out and clean it (Kawasaki). It just depends on the lay out in the hull. It may be a labor intensive fix but it can usually be done for just the cost of a couple of gaskets.

No thrust in 95 wave runner jetski

Check the intake, the impeller, and the exhaust vane for rocks debris and damage. Remove the debris, rocks, plastic, wood, etc. and reinspect for damage. If the thrust does not improve after clean out, then you have to remove the intake grate , ride plate, impeller housing, and replace the damaged impeller and possibly the impeller housing depending on how much damage there is.

1992 115 hp V4 2

The carbs on 2 strokes are always needing a little adjusting, either your plugs are somewhat foulded, carbs gummed up from setting, restriction in fuel delivery, linkage could also be biding slightly. These are the general issues, any more would require a tech to get hands on and test them. But if your savy enough to adjust the carbs, just bump the idle up a tad after you check everything out. I am guessing that this may clear up on its own, but may need a bump.

Open up your electronics box. If it is wet inside let it dry out over night and reseal it. Take your carburetor apart and clean it . Moisture can cause corrosion in the corners of the carburetor where critical moving flaps and needles are located.

I have a wnerunner 650 that porporis.s whe running

More weight forward can help. Many times people have dropped the back of there boat on gravel, a log, a board , etc. and have warped or curved enough to change the way the boat planes. Many boats are designed with ride plates that are too short. On most jet ski's if you were to extend the ride plate 4" (four inches) you would get a nice stable ride. Of course getting on and off the boat in deep water could get a bit more painful. 4" is the magic number. Shorter extensions would also help if angled correctly (just a longer flat surface)

What`s the function of starboard

The water squirter out the side is there to show you that there is cooling water going through the engine. If the outlet spout stops shooting water out the side you need to stop the engine and investigate. I have had mine stop shooting water. I stopped the boat and blew air through the hole backwards to clear the tube. One time I had to pull the hose off the motor(where the squirting water enters a hose to the outlet spout) and push a piece of wire into the engine outlet hole to clear it. Fortunately , the motor was never in any danger of overheating only the wizzer hole was blocked , water was still cooling the motor. Again if the outlet spout stops shooting water turn off the motor and make sure water is entering and cooling the motor.
