without a model number its impossible to tell weather you have a oil/sealed water/water heat exchanger or water is directly circ thru block , if its the latter 4 sure you have a bad head gasket ( Happens on aluminum block) if its the first one id 1st ck the heat exchanger O ring seals

40:1, means 40 parts petrol to 1 part oil. So it's (1 litre-1000ml) divided by 40= 25 ml of oil. Even if you had an odd amount of fuel, Say 7.5 litre's-7500ml 7500 divided by 40 = 187.5ml of oil.

Check the installation of the switch. It sounds like it is installed upside down, or the terminal wires were reversed. You may be able to easily switch the leads to make it work correctly.

If I remember correctly, it does not matter as they are just one way switches. That is why the new one is not color coded.
