Hobart H600 Stand Mixer Questions & Answers
What is hobart h600, single phase or 3 phase?
Not sure if you are asking if an H600 is automatically a single phase or a 3 phase and the answer is NO. Depending on the motor it will be 1 phase or 3 phase application. It will have 4 wires versus 3 wires -- hope that makes sense 3 of the wires are "HOT" on a 3 phase and only 2 are "HOT" on a single phase Motor.
How much oil does my H 600 Mixer hold ( Hobart in the Transmission
1 gallon of 90w Gear Oil -- can be purchased from AUTOZONE! Make sure when you have completely drained from the large drain screw from under the mixer toward the back of where the attachments go on but not part of the part that spins around known as the Beater shaft! Once you have drained out all of the oil -- from the top where the front screw attaches the head or cap of the mixer -- add the oil there and make sure you are watching the sight glass to see when it is at the HALF way mark in other words when the oil level (TIP: Use a bright led flashlight to shine directly at this sight glass to view level) reaches to the midway mark of the oval sight glass, THEN STOP! It is full! Carefully start mixer on 1st gear and then 2nd so on and so forth to make sure everything is getting relubricated correctly and slowly -- don't just go setting it on 3rd or 4th speeds as you want to baby the mixer when you just put in new gear oil
Hope that helps!

Motor not spinning in hobart 60 qt mixer
Check manually after disconnecting the motor if this is jammed. If so the motor must be reset as the bearings are faulty and so the rotor seems to get stuck with the coil core. Also if there is high drain with heat it is possible that the coils are faulty and might need an insulation failure test.

Hello Jbabajanov,
I understand that you want to know about the HP (Horse Power) of a H600, 60 quart mixer and weither it is a single or three phase.
All H600 Hobart mixers are equiped with a 2 horse power motor.
As to wether it is single or three phase you will need to look at the service tag of the machine. If is listed on it weather it is single or three phase.

What can you use for
The Hobart H600 is a 2 horse power, 60 quart mixer, it can be used for many things in the kitchen. It can be used to make about any kind of food that needs mixed, wiped or kneaded. It works well in a pizzeria for all facets of making pizza from the dough, to shredding the cheese with an attachment, to a restaurant that makes mashed potatoes and fresh bread, to a full service bakery.
However, the biggest thing that you need to know is the capacity of the machine. As overloading the machine can cause damage that may be costly and take a technician to fix. I do not know what attachments you currently have so I will go over a few of them.
The main attachments are a Wire whip, Flat beater, and Dough hook. There are three different types a "D" wire whip (has many wires and is evenly spaced) this is used to whip egg whites, whipping whip cream, etc. The "C Wing" (has six tines in it) is used for items that are heavy for the D wire whip, like whipping potatoes or icing. The last is the "I" whip is similar to the D wire whip just with less tines. The flat beater is used to mashing or mixing examples are mashed potatoes before they are whipped, cake mixes that do not require whipping, batters and icing. The Dough hook is used for kneading dough examples are pizza dough, bread dough, etc.
The biggest thing when using your mixer is to know its capacity for the material that you are mixing. All though this is one of the bigger machines it still has limits. You should refer to this the following link for the capacity of your machine: https://my.hobartcorp.com/resourcecenter/ProductDocumentation/F-7701.pdf
There are also a few attachments that can be put on to the No. 12 attachment hub. A few of these are a vegetable slicer-grater and meat grinder.

Usually mixers just like blenders run on a coil system. The coil system is usually such that when you leave the unit on for long periods of time usually about 3 to 5 mins at a stretch the coil starts to overheat. When this coil starts to overheat then it disturbs the rotating mechanism on the unit therefore the system seems like it refuses to come on when you put it on. Usually whe n you restart the unit is still hot and therefore restarting is a problem until it cools down.
Best way to minimise this problem is by turning the unit off intermittently while in use usually after a minute use put of for 10 seconds and restart this should ensure that the unit does not oveheat and restarting wont be a problem.
Hope this solution has been helpful?
