Not getting thick plugs of grounds, more like

Hello, what level of grinding the coffee are you using? I think the highest level to make the finest grind is an 8 on this machine and in no way should you be grinding your coffee at this level. When you grind the coffee at its highest setting it causes the grinds to clump and will also cause blockages in the machine as well. If the unit were set to the finest setting sometimes also the grounds are so fine that the water is unable to go through the grounds which as I stated previously ends up causeing blockages in the machine as well. I will await your reply as to how fine of a grind that you are using. Thanks Rick

Hello

Turn off the main power switch. Once the machine has gone through its shut-down cycle you can unplug it.

Pull out the drip tray and dump box from the machine. Look inside the machine to find a plastic flap that is hanging down. This flap is spring loaded (you can pull on it to check) and depending on your machine's model the flap will be positioned in front or on the side. If the flap is positioned in front of you, cup your hand and place it straight into the machine to find the shower screen. If the flap is positioned on the side, cup your hand and place it sideways into the machine to locate the shower screen.

Place your fingers at the bottom edge of the flap. Move your fingers upward until you hit a round disk pointing down. Do not pull on the flap. The round disc is the shower screen which will likely be covered in wet coffee. Wipe the screen with a sturdy paper towel (one that does not leave pieces behind) until completely clean.

Return the drip tray and the dump box to the machine. Plug the machine in, turn it on and push the "rinse" button. Rinse the machine twice if desired before you start brewing again.

The problem as you described is have to do with your vibration pump. Is a very popular problem with vabrating pumps. They work purfect but as soon litle air is trap at there exit valve which is consist from two springs and one small teflon ball then you have the problem you have described. Manytimes repeating the descaling progress can solve the problem and in other cases if you desasemble the vibrating pump and brush it out from scale deposits and water dirt and rust then again you can solve the problem. If both the above can not give any results then you need a new pump. Many times it worth the effort to replace the pump from the first time so you will avoid all the desconfort and have results at once.

My Jura Impressa E80 keeps

Hi JM,

Sounds like you have a stuck valve or a blockage. First you can try pressing the "draw off" button and releasing some of the liquid.

If that does not solve the problem permanently, then send it in for repair. If you wish to do repairs yourself, here is a website that describes the disassembly of the Jura coffeemakers. The one described is not your particular model, but I believe it is close enough for you to know what to do. In order to disassemble, you need a set of Torx screwdrivers.

Here is the web address: http://www.buessert.de/Technik/Jura-IMPRESSA-S95/Reinigungsanleitung.htm
Copy and paste this into your web browser. There are a few things in German, but keep scrolling. It is in English.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

Machine leaks abundant water from the bottom when

I think you have minimum 2 problems with this machine. The leakage could be from the thermoblock, and you might have to change this. And, the watery coffee is from the grinder is worn out, this also needs to be changed.
Sorry!

I don't know how to

Hi Mark,

Do you have your manual? I found one on line for you in case you don't: http://www.capresso.com/pdf/e8_inst.pdf

Look on page 12, section 8 and 9 give the procedure for rinsing. This is set automatically at the factory to be a normal function. However, you can turn it off. See pages 18-20 for that information.

Be sure you have water in the machine. Press on/off button The instructions say that if your machine is cold "heating" will display, then after 2 minutes it will say rinse and you can press the button for rinsing.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs. Thanks,

Impressa S70 - Malfunction 3

This indicates that either the sensor for the thermoblock is defective or the thermofuse is blown. For this you need to go to your local dealer for service. I also recommend that you measure out the mains.
In worst case the powerprint or the mainboard sends wrong signals to the thermoblock so it`s overheated.

The machine says "ready"

That Sounds like theres a blockage, most likely limescale has built up in the boiler. If you try descale now when water is only dribbling through, it probably wont work. Recommend strip down machine and unblock pipework and try get water flow to come back stronger, then try a descale cycle.

I have a Jura Capresso

It may be the diaphragm pump controls for the law including seals. The diaphragm control is located on the pump output and adjusts the line pressure, thus the water flow more even and the pump noise quieter. Check if it is leaking from the front right corner, that is where the diaphragm pump control unit is. The seals may have degraded. Or it could be one of the water lines but I'd start there.

Is it the drawer cannot be put into the machine ?
If so check that the grounds holder rubber flat is seated correctly on it.

If it is not the tray cannot push home fully.

My E-8 seems stuck

Check the water valve and water inlet nozzle. If the valve is not working or the nozzle is blocked then it will not let the water to run. Also see the water passing tube,if its blocked same problem can arise.:--- Disassemble the unit and check the internal parts:-- You will need about 4 different torx; hexagonal and possibly unique screwdriver bits to remove all screws. A plastic pry tool (used for mobile phones) will help where plastic lugs hold on the side and top panel. Empty beans; water store and remove the waste tray. You'll be able to remove the top panel after using a pry tool to disconnect two lugs at the front edge. Four screws hold the central back panel. Slide out a white key underneath the machine The side panels are removed by using a pry tool to release lugs all down the edge where these panels meet the front. Work slowly to take the side panels off. If you simply want to clean the brewing unit externally then just remove the panel on the water side. Find the water inlet just where the water tank sits. A screw here allows you to remove a plastic piece - but take a photo of how it slots in. This gives access to the lower end of the brewing unit. If the plastic piece is still it the way, you can ease off the water pipe from the water inlet and put it aside. You might just need to clear the inner chamber and path for two plungers with two large O-rings. You can see the water inlet nozzle with its o-ring which can perish and cause coffee or water to go to waste. The nylon water pipes - These pipes are held in place with a wire clip (remove with a flat head screwdriver). Ease the nylon pipe with its brass collar out of its socket. The pipe goes into an O-ring in the pipe's socket - this might fall out.The brewing unit is removed by undoing two obscure screws from the coffee grinder side. On the electronic side there's an optosensor (encoder) unit held in place with a steel clip. You might remove this to access one of the two screws. At the bottom of the brewing unit, the water inlet valve is fixed to the machine with a single screw. Next, on the water tank side, you'll see two lines of screws that hold the assembly in place. The middle screws of the screws allow you to separate the unit from the gears. The top two holes don't have screws. Now clean the water pipe, the water valve the nozzles. Also check O-rings the seal to O-rings.If there are loose, just apply car sealant to the side of seal. Then refit all parts and check. ----------------- For more help.Click this link directly to see disassembly instructions with pictures. Its not exactly same as your model, but its jura E series coffee maker only.So this will help.Click the link below:-- http://www.buessert.de/Technik/Jura-IMPRESSA-S95/Reinigungsanleitung.htm ---------------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Machine leaks, but not in the area where coffee is

It sounds like it may be the Diaphragm pump controls for the law including seals. The diaphragm control is located on the pump output and adjusts the line pressure, thus the water flow more even and the pump noise quieter. It is in the front right hand corner of the machine. It could also be the hose or gasket that goes into the pump diaphragm. I would start with the diaphragm pump control unit as the seals can degrade after some time. You can order the item form: http://www.juraprofi.de/Jura-Ersatzteile/Pumpe-Fluidsystem/Membranregler-fuer-die-Jura-Pumpe-inkl-Dichtungen::2896.html it is in German so use Google translate if you are having trouble reading the page. Hope this helps. I had a similar problem. Happy holidays.

Instructions from Capresso:
-pull out the drawer
-look inside the unit where the drawer has been removed and look for a flap (it's really the first thing you see on the left side)
-without moving the flap, reach your hand under it and up until you feel a flat surface
-this surface will have grounds on it
-feel for screw in middle
-take paper towel and wipe off grounds
-repeat until paper towel is clean
-replace drawer and done!
-do this about once a? week to prevent this
Good luck, and hope this helps.
