Air Conditioner Blows Warm Air (or at least not cool)

When serviced by a qualified service tech who finds and repairs a leak before recharging a system it is not illegal. However with the age of your unit you may want to balance the possible cost of a new unit against the cost of repairs to the old one. After repairs are made to an old unit you still have an old unit.

My g.e. a/c isn't

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. The first thing to check is the filter in the furnace or air handler. Also check the inside coil to be sure its not frozen up. Does the air coming out feel cold? It sounds like the unit could be low on charge which means it has a leak and should be leak checked repaired and properly charged. You would need refrigeration gauges to put on the system in order to properly check the refrigerant charge in the system. One other thing could be a dirty condenser coil. Turn the power off to the unit and use a garden hose with a strong nozzle and spray water through the whole coil to try and blow any dirt or debris through the condenser coil in the outside unit.

My airconditioner makes a nose like ther could be

Hello
Some air conditoners use the water they extract from the home to cool the condenser outside. This may sound like a splashing sound, made by the fan outside splashing the water on the condensor.
You may also want to check your dran hole outside under the unit for any **** that may have it clogged.

Unit runs for about 5

Hi!!
It could be many things, the most common are Low R22 refrigerant, bad fan motor, bad compressor. obstructed condenser coil, bad starting relay, bad capacitor. among other things.
To check fan motor, set unit to HI Fan Only setting and let it run for a while, check that fan did not loose speed and it is not getting too hot.
If fan is OK, then turn unit to HI Cool 60-65 degrees and see what happens. Hear if compressor kicked in or if just made a humming noise and stopped. if this happens, replace capacitor.
Keep me posted!! Rate this post!!

Forgot how to reset ac unit when it shuts itself

Step 1
Locate the shutoff panel on the house wall next to the outdoor compressor unit. Turn the unit to the "Off" position.

Step 2
Locate the 240 volt circuit at the main electrical panel of your home. Turn it to the "Off" position.

Step 3
Wait five minutes or more and turn both back on, restoring the power to the unit and resetting it.

Is it normal for my ac unit drip pan to get full

Yes it is,but make sure the drain,or drains are clear to help with the draining of the condensation, and make sure the unit is tilted toward the out side enough for it to drain good, and so it will not flow inside your home,if this was helpful, please rate, thank you.

Unit turns on but it does not blow out any cooled

Shut the power off to the unit, spin the blower wheel to see if it spins freely. If it doesn't spin freely, (there appears to be a little drag when you spin it),the bearings are bad, if it does spin freely, then try moving the motor shaft from side to side if there’s any play in the shaft side to side then the bearings are worn and motor needs replaced. Then, check the capacitor, if it’s bulging even slightly, the capacitor is bad and needs replaced. Most of the time people replace the capacitor if motor seems ok. If capacitor is ok, turn power on to see if the motor is getting the proper voltage, if it is and not trying to run, then the windings are probably open, the motor's bad and needs replaced.

Ac not working like it used to

Storing the Unit is important -it should be up-right NOT on it side, this will cause the iol to clog the lines, NOT COOLING properly could be it need a good cleaning ( with a cleaning agent and a hose ) . to do this you have to remove the case or from the sleeve, BE CAREFUL NOT TO WATER "ELECTRICAL PARTS, clean drain line ( condensation "water" will cool off the ouside coil ( candenser) the inside coil can frost up if dirty or filter is clogged.
take the Unit out and clean well. you can purchase a spray that will remove all the grease and dirt - be careful not to bend tubing. use a light spray and let it dry in the sun. When putin Unit back in the window or wall WATER MAYBE SPRAYED OUT -DON'T STAND IN FRONT OF THE UNIT - IF you can't do this, call a serice company - this job can be done in a back yard.

Window AC support

Not that I'm an A/C guy but sounds like the compressor motor is toast. It's building too much resistance and tripping the breaker...FYI make sure you unplug it...you don't want your house to burn down while you're sleeping or at work. good luck
