I have a Kenmore 54501 dehumidifier that will run for days and not collect water. When I got it new, about two years ago, it did fine. The fan is OK and I cleaned the filter. Still no water. It is in the 12'X 18' basement room and has worked fine until recently. Any suggestions? Thanks, Paul
My unit does not collect water any more. It was fine until I lent it to my brother in law and it was returned damaged. Do you know how to fix this

Where can I buy a drain hose connector? Can't find on sera parts list. Thanks! Paul
hose connector is Sears part # 5214A20027A
dehumidifer is Model # 58054501300 or 58054501400
use these numbers on searspartsdirect.com

We purchased a connector hose from Sears. The connection inside the dehumidifier (not the external connection to the hose that goes to the drain) leaks, so the bucket below fills - not what we want to happen. We can't seem to tighten the connection enough so there is no leakage.
let me know if you still have this

I know I am going to kick myself when I get the answer...... I can't figure out how to connect the drain hose to the dehumidifier. I lost the manual. Thanks!
You need the white pipe that came with it. Remove the circle on the back left of the unit with pliers or a screwdriver. Take out the bucket. screw the hose to the pipe. Push the pipe through the hole in back and break through the rubber membrane. In front, connect the white pipe to the elbow pipe at the top. Make sure the smaller tab on the white pipe (back of machine) is pointing down and the larger one up. The smaller tab goes behind the back cover and (sort of) holds the pipe in place. You still need the bucket in place for the machine to turn on.

my kenmore 50 pint dehumidifier 54501 runs but it does not taking in water
You need to determine what's "running". Here's why: There are three things that must be working to extract water. The
'coil' (a finned metal part that needs air to flow across its surface) may be filled
with dust and obstructions, so no air can move...then no water. There is a
blower motor that must move the air. If it is seized up and not blowing
air...very little or no water. The compressor creates condensation from
air moving across the coil (like the moisture than forms on an ice filled
glass on a humid day) to extract the water from the air. If it's not
working then no water.
So, if there is air blowing out of the dehumidifier the blower is working. If the air is room temp the compressor is not
working. If it's real hot air, and the humidifier keeps cycling on and
off quickly, the coil is dirty. Those are the 3 things that need to be
working.

Can't clear the code unless I unplug to unit.
No reference the code P1 or P2 anywhere in the manual. Otherwise unit is worknig fine. It's just a curiousity.
P1 error indicates that:

power is on, bucket full light is flashing (it is not full) and % humidity shows as 01%. It was set for 55%. I cannot change the % above 01%. I cleaned the filter....no good. I turned it off and then on again and the humidity % briefly showed 55%, unit came on, then a second later turned off and display goes back to 1% and bucket full light starts flashing??????????
I posted an extended answer to this problem with part replacement info and pictorial. Why hasn't this solution been posted???

I have a Classic D15 (home hardware) dehumidifier and it's running but not collecting water. It's only about 6 months old. Not sure if I have the receipt for it or I'd take it back. Any suggestions. The filter is clean.
