What is the model number?This error code FF indicates a problem with the main control board. When the power cord is disconnected for 30 seconds and then reconnected, it resets the board. Sometimes this procedure corrects the problem and sometimes it does, for only a short period of time. Usually in this case, the main board will need to be replaced.

start with a full interior defrost if required then check for any build up of ice under the cabinet(yes underneath)if icy do a full defrost(48hours)if not you may need to check the compressor/temp sensor etc...set at rapid freeze(if fitted) once dry and check again....

the frost buildup is entirely due to badly fitting seals,its also costing you a fortune to run it.A 5 sided cube is easily adjusted by using a spirit level and spacers under the feet/wheels(if fitted)once adjusted the lid should fit square.otherwise check the hinges for adjustment.
WHEN FITTED/INSTALLED CORRECTLY, THE LID SITS TIGHT ALL ROUND,NO AIR GAPS.....

maybe theres a defect in the board causing the error or the compressor bis defective

Place a volt meter set for amp draw around one wire of the compressor. If you do not have a constant amp draw replace the start relay on the compressor.
If you do have a constant amp draw the compressor is bad or you have a refrigerant leak.

Is your circulating fan working?

I have the same problem.. I turned the temp control on the side back and forth a couple of times, and the light went out. Still don't know how cold it should be inside though??

Try to replace the compressor relay (most of the times problem) ,but if still doing the same clicking noise , the problem is in the compressor.

It would appear to me the system has a leak. Allow me to explain. When a fridge/freezer is "lo" on gas it causes the compressor to run far longer than usual. As a consiquence the motor overload shuts it down, potentially for a very long time, hence the contents thaw. The major clue to this a frost pattern on just one wall. Have a tech visit to confirm, but I suspect you'll be out of luck as far as a repair goes. Chest freezers are not easy to repair "lo side" leaks, which is likely what you have, because the evap. coils are in the walls. sorry, but I hope that helps in some manner. good luck

If the freezer was stored and not running for 7 years it may have lost coolant.  Since the compressor is running recharging the coolant may fix the problem.  Hot compressor might indicate low coolant since its motor is immersed in it.

If the compressor is staying cold and there is not a clicking noise from it occasionally it could just be a faulty thermostat ot compressor relay, neither item should be expensive.
