The freezer we purchased has a large opening where the compressor sits. Since it will be in our heated garage, is there a covering for the opening.

It is probably open to dissipate the heat, so it does so with air near the floor.

I accidently turned off freezer. How do i turn it back on?

Turn the interior temperature control back on by setting at approx halfway between "off" and "coldest". (Make certain the branch circuit is hot - you should hear the compressor turn on when you set the control, possible an interior light will come on as well). If the freezer does not run, check to see if you accidiently pulled the flash defrost plnger (if equipped). (See age 8 in your manual). If you don't have a manual, you can download one here: ShopYourWay KENMORE Upright Freezer ShopYourWay (This is for Kenmore model 253.23024-101 or -102).

My up right freezer in frosing at top inside part of the unit.

Frosting on evaporator coil should be evenly distributed all over the coil. If the frosting only appears up on the top around where the refrigeration line enters then the gas pressure is too low - if you add refrigerant the frosting will move down to cover the bottom coils also.

Stand up magic cheef freezer unthawing and hot to

A freezer can't "unthaw". It can freeze or thaw. I assume your freezer is not cooling properly and is hot to the touch. First try defrosting the interior. Ice buildup will cause the problems you described. Also check the rear of the freezer and clean the cooling coils so they transfer heat to the outside air. If neither of these things helps, have a professional check your Freon coolant level. You may have a leak.

Replace gasket in freezer

Its a pain in the *** and if you really plan on doing it yourself and its not the magnetic kind then the best thing to do is take the door completely off the machine and only loosen the screws in the mold, not remove them because the inner door called the eggshell will shift causing more problems than what its worth If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jason_4570d45317834dd3

What to do if you have a freon leak in the freezer

charge with detail (that is a Freon with Red dy solution to help locate your system leak) locate leak, repair using silver solder, evacuate system completely, pull vacuum down to 27" plus Lbs. vacuum, close system to hold vac pressure, monitor pressure for 30 minute or so, if vacuum hold pressure then you have successfully fixed your system leak, next hook up your system to the manifold gages assembly to a Freon supply source, all this while retainning your vacuum pressure, slowly crack open the valve on the manifold to allow the new freon to enter your system until you see pressure building up in you system, next monitor the discharge line i.e. the bigger line until you see frost extending outside of your freezer unit toward your compressor assembly, then close the freon supply valve, wait for a while to see if the frost line recede into the unit box, if it does not recede but stay out of the box or extend some more then you must must release some freon slowly a very small amount at the time until the frost line has regressed into your freezer box. this should complete your repair, good luck

Freezer runs too much

It sounds like your freezer is not going into your defrost cycle. Or perhaps your cold control is defective not allowing it to shut off.http://www.on-timeappliance.com/refrigeratorrepair.html

I have a fridgerdire freeze that has not beem used

Hi James. Most Kenmore upright freezers use a backup battery located at the lower part of the appliance. When the battery is low the freezer will beep continuously. If the unit has been off for a long time, and if the unit uses a battery, then the battery may need replacement. Here a picture of the battery in its housing, located in the lower front part of the freezer.2_19_2012_11_19_52_am.jpeg
