This is due to loose connection which could happen after a period of time between the screen to the laptop. Solution: You can use another LCD screen as you secondary screen which you need to hook up to your laptop onto the blue connector (vga connection) or get the laptop screen replaced altogether

i am myself using dell studio 17
i had home premium and then i installed 7 ultimate 64 bit i got the same error...
go to boot menu and select hdd as first boot device

Insert your recover disc when you start the computer and if it asks you to hit a key to boot from DVD do so and select start up repair or boot repair and let it do it's thing. Should fix it for you.

Try rebooting the system and insert the disk again. If this does not fix the problem, it may be a case of taking it to the local computer repair shop unfortunately as the most probable problem is a hardware issue, which could mean that a replacement drive is needed. If you possess an external DVD drive try using that.

your fan in your computer maybe shot or it might be set on hibernation mode

okay... so do this steps to fix it.

1. on the desktop..click on start and in the start search box type MSCONFIG and then press enter or click on SYATEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY then a window will open in the middle. you can also type this in the RUN box if using XP.

2. Click on STARTUP at the top right side.

3. You would see some check boxes. Click on DISABLE ALL at the bottom right hand side.
(all the boses shall become uncheck)

4. Click on APPLY and the close it.

5. Click the check box for DONT SHOW THIS MESSAGE AGAIN.

6. RESTART the computer.

7. Issue resolved. :)

sounds like something is wrong with the loading sequence. if u have the installer disks that came with the computer. u can run repair with the opperating system install disk. if that doesnt fix it try reinstalling the os .( you'll have to erase everything on the harddrive and will lose everything) and if that dont work then it is probably the harddrive itself and my need to b replaced

check first if the drivers for the webcam are installed. you can do this by:

1. click start and open control panel
2..(if you're using win vista/7), open device manager and click on the plus sign/arrow beside imaging devices. OR (if you're using windows xp, right click on my computer and select properties. under system properties, go to hardware tab and click on device manager)
3. highlight the device under imaging devices and uninstall. restart the computer after.
4. if that does not work or there is nothing showing under imaging devices, you may download the drivers from the dell website: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&ServiceTag=&SystemID=VOS_N_1015&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=

have a look to see if there is much dust around the fan and if so this will need to be cleaned out. if there is dust then your dell is shutting down because it is getting to hot.

what email do you use? examples Outlook,windows live, yahoo,gmail etc

Possibly a failed keyboard (was there a liquid spill?), loose keyboard cable or failed system board. Call Dell support, if your warranty is expired keyboard should be about $40-75, system board can be $200-600 depending on model and availiability of the part.
