Razor MX500 Dirt Rocket - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Why is my Razor motorcycle MX350 battery showing green but not charging
yes!your battery needs replacement.....throttle clicking after a full charge is a sign,...but that's after 2years or more, depending on how it's being used..your motor can go bad before then if you been riding in the rain--wet connectors in or out the motor can not get wet for any reason..a full dirt motor bike can not get full dirty with mud..mud catains water/water and electricity don't mix/////.motor/thottle/moisture.
Batteries are charged and the bike doesnt work any ideas on what it might be and batteries are new
yes! if that's the case ,the motor is the culprit.there are 4 things that make our bike run..the a good charger, batteries, the throttle, and the motor. now that you singled out your battery and charger ,you have the throttle and your motor..1st check your throttle & make sure it stops @ a1/4 twist.check all connections, then do an extencive check of your motor for moisture or water/signs of it being wet/riding in the rain..which is a big No-No../no rain No snow, No drizzle, and no puddles clean or muddy..it is not a gas bike....remember!great tip!
I lost my original charger for it so is there another kind of charger i can use to charge it
There are 4 things that have to match up.Plug - obviously the plug has to fitPolarity - If the plug fits, this is PROBABLY ok, but the negative/positive must be the same as the originalVoltage - The voltage output should be the same as the original, which will be a few volts higher than the battery. If the voltage output is the same or less than the battery, it won't work. If the voltage is too much higher than the original, it might fry the battery and the charger. Current rating - If the current rating of the replacement charger is less than the original, it might fry the charger. If it is much higher than the original, it MIGHT fry the battery. You can probably go +/- 20%
Mx500 wont start
Make sure the on / off switch is on. If still no start check for good fuel and spark. If fuel was allowed to sit carb could be gummed up.
I have charged my MX
The battery is probably bad. If a battery is fully discharged it can damage one of the cells in the battery. If you can replace the bad cell then it should charge correctly. Many of these batteries are made to be hard to open up and are hard to repair when they are opened. My best solution is to replace the battery and if that doesn't help then the charger is bad. When the charger is replaced then if both batteries are good then you will have a spare. I hope this helps.
It wont move it works but the weals dont move
Check that the chain is still on both the drivewheel(the part on the motor) and the freewheel (the part on the wheel). If that is connected well, check if the chain moves when you rev it. If the chain moves but the wheel still doesn't move, the freewheel, or gear connected to the wheel, is probably broken and you need to get a new rear wheel. If it doesn't move, the motor is most likely shot, and you're going to need to order a new motor, unless you are confident in taking apart the motor and replacing whatever needs replacing within it.
The MX500 wont start. The light says the battery
Although you alternator may be charging, the battery may not be accepting the charge or holding it. Have the battery tested under load, but I think that you are going to find you will need to replace it.
