'Had this problem... turned out that the contacts weren't mating properly between the flea and the dock. I remedied by shaving back some of the plastic surrounding the contacts with a pocket knife.

It's a rechargable light, with a built in battery and no supposed user replacable battery. You need the USB dock to charge it either through your computer or using the optional Blackburn solar panel.

It may be in demo mode. Hold the power button for 20 seconds.

had problem like this once. firstly hold down button for 10-15 secs as there is a built in shop demo mode.when you disable this mode they will work normally, just beware people looking at them may activate it for you! this should allow them to function,when you plug them in they should flash dimly and when fully charged flash ultra bright.

I just gt one and had the same issue. Just put it on "Flashing: Mode and let it flash for a few minutes. After that it will stay off!
