Had the same problem tonight. Took the entire thing apart only to find there was a much simpler solution. Check the small hose that runs from the brush rollers where the longer hose (on the back) attaches to the side of the vacuum. Easiest way to do this is to lay the handle down and stick something (coat hanger worked good) through it until it comes out of the head. I found a pretty good sized fuzz plug in mine. As soon as I removed it, everything worked great again - and no noise!

Remove the rotating brash and check it, something is blocking the suction, probably you need a new belt

a common problem with this unit is that the sensor will clog up with dirt and debris and will give a false reading to you. my best advice is just to ignore the sensor light... mostly because your machine is running and it will not affect the performance of the machine. Next time you have the unit in for a service, let the repair person know and they should be able to clean it for you.
