Not normally a flapper. There is a trap on the rear outside cabinet just below the level of the freezer. Remove it and soak in hot water and bleach for 20 minutes, then flush all the debris out, shake it dry and reinstall.
..
Put some Vaseline on the O-Ring to help it slide into place. Make sure it is properly inserted at the beginning.
If the filter is located inside the refrigerator:
Turn off the ice maker.
Push the eject button.
Pull the filter out of the housing.
Push the new filter into the housing until it clicks.
Turn on the ice maker.
Run 2 gallons of water through the water dispenser to purge air and residue.
Kenmore appliance model numbers have a three digit prefix (106 in this case) for the manufacturer. The rest of the model number indicates a lot of the specifics for the refrigerator. The third digit is the second group indicates the capacity. This fridge is a 22 cubic foot model (or slightly smaller).
I hope this helps.

Hello Linda. This should be below my Answer rather than being a new Question. This post has no context to the previous question and my answer. I just happened to see it, but if you clicked Comment under my answer, I would get a notification and come back to help. If I hadn't seen it and someone had answered it with 'not sure what you mean', it would have vanished off the Homepage as Solved and I would never have seen it.
I was just copying Cindy Wells answer, but yes, it is the total cubic feet of both the refrigerator and freezer combined.

The fan that blows cold air from the freezer to cool the refrigerator is not working. If your a little handy with tools its an easy fix. Its located in the freezer. Open your freezer door take off the steel panel at the back of the inside of the freezer. After you remove the panel you will see the fan the blows the cold air up to the Frig. A quick trip to a local appliance store for a new fan with do the trick. Put in the new fan 100% fixed even better than new because the orginal part is defective Kenmore should have recalled them. I have the same frig and its been perfect since I repaced my failed fan.
Kenmore Elite is a who range of appliance, but as you are in Kenmore Refrigerators category, let's assume it's that. All questions need full 'make model (what it is)' first 3 words please.
The only easy thing to do would be to make sure the condenser fins are clear of fluff, the compressor is running, the compressor fan is running and the internal circulation fan is running. If it is a fridge with freezer above, a blockage at the back of the freezer due to a failed defrost heater can cause an issue where no cold air drops into the fridge.
The other possibility is low refrigerant gas, but that is not something you can rectify yourself.
Check the condenser coils to determine if they are dirty-if the condenser coils are dirty, clean them. Verify the freezer temperature is set between 0 and 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to -15 Celsius). Verify the refrigerator temperature is set between 34 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit (1 to 5 Celsius).
Kenmore 106 series

It sounds like you have a wire that is not connected to the circuit board. You should be able to locate the connection point for the wire by consulting the user manual for your dryer. If the user manual doesn't have the information you need, you may need to contact the manufacturer or an appliance repair technician to help you identify the connection point.
first need the tools and parts to do the job --parts=== tap a line valve --compressor --oil--freon--electric [depending on why comp failed ]------tools=gauges-torch-solder -hand tools --freon recovery ---vacuum pump --multi-meter
Start by taking a look at the lower or back part of your refrigerator. A grille ought to be visible on both parts. There is a strong likelihood the water filter is inside if you observe the grille. Check the upper-right corner of the refrigerator if the grille on the back or lower portion is not visible.https://www.usawaterquality.org/water-filter-on-a-kenmore-coldspot-refrigerator/
