I have an Abit IC7-G motherboard. Machine has died

Most obvious problem would be the power supply. The green LED only indicates that the 5V rails os working enough to power the on/off circuit on the motherboard. First disconnect everything except the mother board from power supply. Then try switching on again. If this does not work, then disconnect the power connectors from the motherboard. ON the big power connector (P1) there should be a green wire with two black wires either side. This is the power on sensor wire. Use a paper clip or similar bit if wire to short out the green wire with one of the black wires. This should start the power supply and the fan in the PSU should spin. If this does not work then the PSU is definately faulty. If it switches on when there is no load connected then it is probably only slightly faulty (not able to provide sufficient current). Since the green LED is coming on, my guess is that you have bad capacitors in the PSU (they will probably have domed tops instead of flat). Try a power supply from another PC if possible.

Cmos battery swap for Abit

Desktop motherboards, like yours, use a 3V Lithium battery. The most common one is CR2032, but any compatible battery (size/voltage) will do the job! You can always take out your battery and look for a replacement for it - model and details are printed on it's top.

The CMOS battery on your motherboard is located to the right of the memory modules, as shown in the picture below:

I have a abit 1c7g motherboard intel 3.2ghz

Suggest you connect the plextor to the SATA port 3 and set it's jumper to Master. All SATA drives are seen as Master drives. (Check the serial number on your WD SATA drive "Primary".
Enter the bios menu. Within page 3-7 section 3-3 Advanced bios features. Check, 1st, 2nd and third boot devices.
Floppy disk drive as, 1st boot device. 2nd boot device, "Primary WD SATA port 1". 3rd boot device, CD-ROM drive SATA port 2, Plextor 880sa drive". Save and exit the bios. If you no longer have you're manual you can download it from the link provided below;
http://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/fae/ic7-g_eng_v101.pdf
Check page 3-13. See OnChip serial ATA Mode. As noted, the RAID option is available when the item "OnChip serial ATA" is set as [Enhanced Mode].

Can't boot, stops right after mem test but before

does the post give a audio code before the boot stops..? the plcc chip can be purchased from the manufacturer if they are still available. Does the post stop after the mem test or during..? if during, try replacing or refitting the ram sticks. You could even remove the ram sticks and see if the post continues or if you receive a beep code.if you get a beep code, go to manufacturers website for beep code info. Have you tried to reset the bios. most boards can recover from a bios failure, the boards manual will tell you how to do this if the board supports it. If the plcc has failed, replacing the board may be cheaper and free of hassles. Replacing the plcc is a pain as you must get the correct bios installed. Are you getting the video bios details on the screen ? if no, try another video card. If you are using an on board video chip, try a video expansion card, either AGP or PCIE type, whichever the board supports. If the board only has PCI or AGP, replace the board as it will not have the features for modern software and you will probably not be able to replace the plcc.

When i scan mycomputer then it keep siren continuously

The sound you are hearing is a warning that the CPU is over heating.
Try cleaning the CPU fan & the heatsink the fan is connected too.
If you built the system did you add thermal grease between the heatsink & CPU?
It is also possible the thermal grease has dried up & is no longer allowing the heat from the CPU to transfer to the heatsink. It may be time to replace the heatsink assembly.
If your over clocking the CPU reset it to normal.

Luck!

Hi lo alarm siren when playing online games

Hi stretcharm_2,

It seems that the hi-lo siren from the mobo indicates that the cpu is over hated.

1st of all, you need to go into the BIOS/CMOS setup to check if the temperature was boosting higher that the prefix alarm. If it's low, but gone up very fast after a few minutes, you need to update to the latest BIOS firmware, as it's part of the Fatal1ty problem.

you can download the bios here, be sure to read all the instruction before you proceed to update the BIOS firmware.

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/download/download_bios_detail.php?pFILE_TYPE=Bios&pMAIN_TYPE=motherboard&pTITLE_ON_SCREEN=Fatal1ty+FP-IN9+SLI&pSOCKET_TYPE=LGA775

PLEASE BE EXTRA CAREFUL WHEN UPGRADING THE BIOS AS IT MIGHT KILLED YOUR MOBO.

you can always come back here and post a comment if you r no sure.

2nd of all, you need to check is the heatsink was fixed properly.

It's not your fault that's the fan wasn't fixed properly because the stock LGA-775 socket T heatsink's design wasn't a perfect one, and it has 4 very fragile fix-in clips. You need to check if all four clips were fixed firmly in the braket for maximum heat dicipation. It might be broken and you need to replace with another one.

You might need to replace the thermal paste to a better 1.

Please check your manual on how to diassemble the heatsink.

Good Luck,

Don't forget to rate my solution, thanks!!

Motherboard driver

Hello FHER,

You should be able to go right to the manufactures website and down load the drivers for your motherboard. When you go to their website, just look for down loads or support.

Sincerely,

Abit IC7_G won't boot up after ram installation.

Try re-seating the RAM. Most likely it wasn't installed correctly. Or you could have gotten bad RAM.

Monitor wont come out of standby

You got two outlooks, a fried motherboard or a fried component. If you have integrated graphics then its probably your motherboard, if you have your own, separate graphics card installed then it could have to do with your graphics card.

Google is your friend. It might not be damaged hardware, just some bug.

Kds monitors support

Hi Klex, I was able to find the website address www.kdsusa.com through one of their products on Newegg, but the site appears to no longer exist. They also had a phone number listed (1-800-283-131) but that too doesn't seem to work. I have the feeling that they have either close their business or ended their operations in the U.S.. Sorry I didn't have better information for you.
