I have a Kenmore 2 door refrigertor that has an Ice maker problem. The water does not fill the ice maker tray, but water does come out of the water dispenser. I did check the ice collection overflow light and it seems to work correctly (block it and light blinks, unblock and light is steady.) Would like your help to try and repair this unit if possible.
Respectfully,
David

Most common problem is a broken ice maker module. Should also replace ice maker thermostat when changing the module. Make sure fill tube isn't frozen first. If you take the ice maker out pull off the plastic cover and in the center of the wheel that kind of looks like a gear there are two little plastic studs. If one is broke or they are pressed together then the module is bad. Make sure to replace the thermostat along with some silicone grease because a bad thermostat is what causes the module to break.

Water works and ice maker works. The light also works. I've made sure that the "unlock" button is highlighted. Still won't dispense ice.
When you push the ice dispensing lever, you should be able to hear the micro-switch clicking. If no click, the switch is faulty. The auger motor which is activated by the lever could also be faulty. This is the motor that causes the auger in the ice bucket to rotate one way for crushed ice and the other way for cubes. The auger could also be jammed. Try switching between crushed and cubes to unjam the auger. Empty the ice bucket and start again.

The door is completly sealed with no way to get to the screws. DI'm thinking that the door handle just slides into place after the brackets are installed. I've tried to pull up on the handle to see if it releases, but nothing. Some advice would be greatly appreciated since my warranty has run out.
Thanks,
Scott

Water is coming into the water dispenser. A few weeks ago, we noticed a clicking or a knocking sound in our ice maker, but we continued to get ice. Now we do not get ice or a clicking sound. What could wrong? How can a novice troubleshoot this?
We are having the same problem with our ice maker for a Kenmore Cold Spot, model # 57562791. We just moved in to our new home and this was the refrigerator that was left behind. Looks like it is almost 10 years old, built in 1998. The ice maker was working fine for a couple of weeks when we moved in but then started making an usually loud clicking noise and stopped making ice. After I turned it off and back on it started making ice again for about a week. However, just recently did not hear any noise and will not make anymore ice even after resetting on and off switch. We are still able to get water from the water dispenser with no problems. Any suggestions?
I have a kenmore coldspot side by side model # 106.53662300.
The ice maker red light is blinking and it has made very little ice in the last 24 hours. What do you think the problem is?

The Express Freeze keeps dinging, it is very annoying and doesn't turn off. It just started to do that, it isn't because we tried to use the function. How can I disable it, I have never used the function?
Hi,
Do you mean that it is making some sort of huming noise?
Waiting for your reply..

MY FRIDGE IS NOT GETTING COLD AND MY FREEZER IS NOT FREEZING. THE LIGHTS GO ON WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR AND THERE AREN'T ANY STRANGE NOISES. I THINK I MIGHT NEED FREON (NOT SURE) HOW WOULD I KNOW AND IF SO HOW DO I ADD IT.
KENMORE COLDSPOT 2003, MODEL# 106.52584202
First check to see if your compressor is running at all. If your compressor is at room temperature you cold control is not supplying power to the compressor. Replace the control or locate the defrost timer and rotate the clutch head screw ( Normally black or Grey) and rotate it a small amount clock-wise. If the compressor then starts replace the defrost timer.

Anybody know how to remove the water filter on a Kenmore Elite Coldspot fridge? Model # is 106.52699100. I tried the "twist and turn" action to remove the filter, but it seems stuck. No button to push for any release either.
thanks!
I had the same problem. I coudn't get the knob to turn. I ended up taking the front grill off so I could get a better grip on the knob. Once I did that I still have to put a lot of pressure on the knob to turn it but that did the trick. When I got it turned a quarter turn then it was easy to pull the filter out. Hope this helps!

Just found out this morning that the light bulb in the refrigerator has been staying on. I opened the refrigerator to find the food on the top shelf boiling hot and the light bulb cover melted. I unscrewed the light bulbs as a temporary solution, but would like to have it fixed. Sears "would send a tech out" but will cost us because we are not covered under the warranty anymore. If anyone has a solution, please help. I reported this to the CPSC because this is a SERIOUS fire hazard. I hope that if they get enough complaints, there will be a recall, so please file a report :)!
I had the same problem with a kenmore elite fridge and recieved the same response from Sears customer service!!! File a complaint with your local BBB. Sears contacted me within the day and sending out a tech at their expense only after the complaint was filed. Good luck. Elana
