Saeco Majic - My machine is very slow and drips
If you make a pre-ground shot but don’t put any coffee in it, and it does the same thing you have a blockage in the brew head.
If it run normally, your grind is to fine. Push the grinder lever to a larger number.
If it still dribbles, remove the brew unit (behind the door)
Holding the handle, the top left side is the brew head. There is an outlet pipe that exits the backside towards the machine (looks like an "L" pipe). 2screws hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold ("L" pipe assembly). Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (becareful, there is an O-ring, spring and inside a crystal ball (don’t loose it or your out of luck). Turn the brew unit upside down while holding the brew head in your other hand and the crystal ball should fall out. If it doesn’t come out put a towel down and tap the brew unit on the towel. This should force it out.
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember thumbscrew, DON’T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers.....
Once the screen is out look at where the screen was. There are 2 holes. 1 big one in the center and a small one to the side.
With the brew unit upside down over the towel insert a paperclip into the small hole and force anything out the other side. I have gotten worms almost a 1" long from this passage. The paper clip has to go from this side to prevent damage to the seat on the other side.
Clean then reassemble. Brew unit on towel right side up. Drop the crystal ball in first. Then the spring small end first on the crystal ball.
Now the O-ring over the spring, then place the manifold on top of that with the pipe towards the machine. Insert your screws (I turn them backwards a little with a little downward pressure until they feel like they drop into the threads. They should turn down easily, if not back them up a little more ( we are trying to find the old threads) and tighten. Install screen, and tighten with your fingers. The screen just needs to be flush with the bottom of the brew head.
Run another pre-ground without the coffee and rinse it out. Do this once in a while to prevent this
Machine leaking water from service door behind
Hi
Trying to understand what you are talking about, but if you have water in the top left side of the brew unit, its your thumb screw. If you have water under the brew unit Its the drain for the pressure release. remove the brew unit. The injector behind the brew unit on the machine has a drain and it can get clogged with coffee residue. If there is water below the injsctor the drain hole is inside and towards the front of the machine. A long zip tie inserted in the drain aimed down towards the front will usually find the drain hole and clear it, then take some hot sudsy water and flush the drain.
If its the thumb screw you will ahve to get a new one but be sure to remove the extra nut on the filter screen shaft before installing the new one.
There used to be enough
This a
clear problem from scale builds up in the boiler. The scale layer is acting as
an insulation layer which is reducing the efficiency of the heating element to
the boiler and also reducing the water capacity thus also the steam production
capacity.
So youshould first try to de-scale your machine three four times with intervals ofthree days from each de-scale. Try also to perform the de-scale very slowlylike when you will flash the water solution from the water reservoir take about30 minutes why drawing a coffee cup every five minutes. With this way you havevery good chance to remove a lot of scale and you machine heating efficiency tobe increased. If after the above procedure you have no difference then you needa new boiler which is one unit with elements and sensor.

Machine has flashing water light and a light
flashing water light means the machine needs to be drained. i read this fix somewhere on this site. to do this, put a cup under the steam wand and turn the knob to dispense water. it will sputter some and when it runs a steady stream, it should be ok. this just happened to me, but the weird thing with mine is now it's backwards and tamps and before it grinds the beans, so i get sludgy pucks. strange. hope it doesn't happen to you
Water light is flashing but tank is full
I had the same problem - Cause: plugged water filter. We always used RO water so never replaced the filter. After 4 years I guess it was due.
Solution: Reprime the water system. Remove water filter. Fill tank with water. Turn machine on. Put a container under the steam/hot water wand and open the knob on the front panel. You may need to run half a tank of water through it before it resets. Hope this works for you all.
My Saeco Magic Deluxe machine just stopped
Does it sound like it is trying to grind or is it silent? Listen carefully after pressing the coffee button. If it is silent then the motor has most likely died or the thermal fuse on the motor has blown due to motor overload and overheating.
If you can hear a faint humming, then the grinder may just be blocked (or the dosing chamber located between grinder and brew unit (above brew unit) may be blocked). First try backing off the grind to the coarsest setting. Even if you can't hear the motor, it is worth backing off the grind anyway (easy to do) as you may be lucky. To clear doser, remove brew unit and look up. You shold see a curved trap door like thing that you can swing up to release or poke out stuck ground coffee.
If the machine instantly makes that 'tuka tuka' sound after hitting the coffee button (like it does when it is dumping the coffee after grinding) then the flap or micro switch in the dosing chamber is stuck. Move the dose (grind quantity) adjustment lever back and forth a few times.
If these suggestions don't help then take it to an authorised or expert repairer.
Brew unit warning light keeps flashing even when
Hi
Try pushing on the upper left side of the brew unit when its installed. If you hear a click, it should have cleared the light. If so you need to lubricate the outlet pipe on the brew unit. It is dragging on the brew unit when you are trying to install it. This will allow it to seat correctly. Use a food grade lube like what came with your Saeco.

If I understand well the problem is only with tanks valve which means the spring have become more soft and stays a litle open so you have water leak. It maybe because some scale or dirt keep it open some time.
In order to decide if it wise to fix it or not the answer is simple if you have a good coffee result in cup which means that the grinder grinds good, presure pump work good and boiler heat up ok then you will only need to complete descale the machine and replace only small cheap parts and you will have a very good machine again for some more years. Remember a brand new machine will do the same espresso like yours.

Two problems with my old
The steam and water is coming out from the boiler and arrived to the steam/hot water valve by a Teflon hose which is secure to the valve by a clip. Probably due to scale deposits and pressure the clip move from its place and the hose have become loose. So now you have steam/water from the steam wand and some from the valve inside the machine. All you need is to disassemble the machine and try to put back in place the hose.
So don

Hi,
It sounds like the pump is fine, but the shots are stalling due to steam in the HX. Do a cooling flush on the group before your first shot, that is, run the water until it stops boiling, and then a few seconds more, depending on the temperature you want (this is something you need to do with every HX machine). After you finish the first shot. Once you have cleared the group, before you do a second shot, do a short cleaning flush of the group by running the pump one second or so (this is SOP for all espresso machines).
Please get back to us if you have any further query or else accept the solution.
