Avermedia QUICKPLAY (pquickplay) Questions & Answers
I am a school librarian. I have an AverMedia
I am not an expert but a google search could prove useful.
I expect connecting it will be intuitive and all you will need are the drivers (the software).
Connecting your device should produce the message "new hardware found" and it will attempt to install it automatically and when it fails, if it fails, it will give you the option of allowing your computer to search the internet for the drivers.
If you still have your old computer and the same operating system is used on your new computer, you will be able to extract the software from it and you could transfer all your files and settings quite simply.

AverMedia KeyLite
plug and play simply means that the unit is supported within windows and does not require a driver to be installed, although this peice of hardware gives many options as to connection the pc graphics driver still needs to be told to either duplicate(clone) the screen to your tv or change the screen from monitor to tv, this is normally done by right clicking on an empty space on your desktop and selecting graphics options or the menu will already appear to enable you to click to change your view.
Dont forget also this unit only supports 1024x768 desktop resolution

QuickPlay randomly launches on its own, often.
The program could be loaded in the Startup programs. Open msconfig in the Run command and click on Start up tab. Untick QuickPlay if there is a check beside it. Then the pc will restart. A small box will pop up once the system rebooted, just click OK.

I want to uninstall QuickPlay
Program install and removal is under 'Control Panel'
Go to 'start', then select the control panel ikon, then the add/remove programs. Select the QuickPlay on the program list, then remove.
Careful - be sure you can put it back from an install disk, if things go wrong.

Memory/processor problems with AverMedia quickplay
No motion picture, movie, games, etc do have this problem, because the LCD or TFTP screen has very low refresh rate so while playing games OR watching dvd movies on a laptop will give jerky movements which as you have mentioned that the is no syncronization. The refresh rate on laptop screens are 40 60 Hz whereas in CRT Monitors we get 70 90 Hz, Sorry nothing can be done....sodeep

Avermedia Tech AVerMedia QuickPlay
Unfortunately the Avermedia Quickplay doesn't support audio. If you want the matching audio too, you'll have to either use your computer's native audio (if it's in the same room), or hook it up to your TV with a separate cable.

Avermedia Averkey lite - Monitor Colour Display Issue
I had the same problem. I was going from PC -> Dvd recorder -> TV.
I had the S-Video output from the averkey going via an adaptor into the DVD scart input. I discovered a setting within the DVD menu which could select between 's-video' and 'composite video' on the scart socket. (it appears that scart can carry either/or, I guess).
I changed from composite to s-video, and I got colour.
I think seeing a greyscale image indicates that the signal being sent is S-Video, but the equipment that is recieving it is expecting composite video.

Avermedia Aver3d Capturehd Hey, I have problem
You must specifically run the driver and software installation as Administrator. While it may appear the automatic process did this, it really didn't.
Right-click on the installation EXE and select "Run as Administrator".
