Saeco Vienna Digital Coffee Maker, Espresso Machine Questions & Answers
The machine heats up past what it is supposed to - just keeps getting hotter and hotter. If left too long it trips the thermostat fuses and I have to go in and reset the fuses.
Dear Mark,
I am somewhat fascinated by your letter!
I may have the solution to your problem, even though I have not been to New Zealand.
It has to do with electricity, the electricity you have in New Zealand, and the electricity that is supposed to be correct for your Coffee Maker.
First of all, please do not use your machine again until the problem is resolved, because you could start a house or apartment fire where you live.
Then, the solution.
I think the electricity that is supposed to be correct for your machine is different than what is available to you, and I specifically mean "HERTZ".
Most countries use different electricity, and they are usually not compatible.
Not just the voltage or amperage, but the hertz as well.
You might check with some electricians to find out if this is your problem.
God bless your efforts.
After turn on the machine display group blocked
The flap of the funnel has a piece of plastic that sticks out, which pushes on a microswitch under the top cover.. If the funnel is not seated correctly, it will not work the microswitch.. This will also apply if you try to use it with ground coffee. There are 2 switches side by side, the other is for the bean hopper cover.I suppose you could insert a small stick into the hole, and press towards the front of the machine.. it should have a distinctive click to it. if it works, then either the plastic piece on the ground coffee cover is broken, or the funnel is not seated correctly.. if it doesnt work, you need a new switch fitting.
No water through brew group
Hi
Remove the brew unit. Holding the handle, the top left side is the brew head. There is an outlet pipe that exits the front side towards the door (looks like a long "L" pipe). 2screws hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold ("L" pipe assembly). Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (be careful, there is an O-ring, spring and at the end a black rubber disk.
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember thumbscrew, DON'T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers.
Once the screen is out look at where the screen was. There are 2 holes. 1 big one in the center and a small one to the side.
With the brew unit upside down over the towel, insert a paperclip into the small hole and force anything out the other side. I have gotten worms almost a 1" long from this passage. The paper clip has to go from this side to prevent damage to the seat on the other side.
Clean then reassemble. Brew unit on towel right side up. Drop the crystal ball in first. Then the spring small end first on the crystal ball.
Now the O-ring over the spring, then place the manifold on top of that with the pipe towards the machine. Insert your screws (I turn them backwards a little with a little downward pressure until they feel like they drop into the threads. They should turn down easily, if not back them up a little more ( we are trying to find the old threads) and tighten. Install screen, and tighten with your fingers. The screen just needs to be flush with the bottom of the brew head. That should do it.

Hi
If you get water through the wand, you may have a thermal fuse that is blown or the element in the steam boiler is gone. Let me know if you need one.
