Dishwasher was not draining. I cleaned out everything and now it wont start

I have the same problem with another Kitchenaid model. I've had better results at keeping the water drained by running two back to back water saver cycles than running a full pots and pans cycle.

Kitchenaid D/W will not start, lights not all working, getting power. What's my problem?

Sylvia.....is the clean light flashing or any other for that matter? Either way it sounds like the control board is locked up. There are many posts on here about how to reset it. Try the following: With the door open: Push Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry (all the lights should light up) then close the door and hit cancel. Push the buttons as fast as you can - within 4 seconds. This will unlock the control board and you should be able to restart the dishwasher. There are many issues with this Kitchenaid including the door popping open during cycle issue. I have dealt with all of them over the past 8 years of ownership. Finally replaced it with a used Miele and sold the KA on craigslist with full disclosure of all the issues and it's history. I even threw in the rubber door stopper that we resorted to using to keep the door closed. Let us know if the above procedure works for you. Good Luck.

The control lock light is on and the machine wont start

You should be able to toggle off the Control Panel Lock by pressing and holding the Energy Saver Dry pad for 4+ seconds. If the light doesn't go off, try shifting your finger position on the touch pad. I have a few appliances where the angle pressure has to be just right for a "press and hold" to be recognized. If several attempts fail, the keypad, wiring or the main board aren't communicating properly. Please check the model number of the dishwasher; there are several KUDS01FLSS models. Go to http://www.kitchenaid.com/customer-service/manuals/ and enter the model to get the parts list. Some parts are available from Appliance Parts Pro: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/search.aspx?model=kuds01flss . The user interface is here: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-user-interface-8270168-ap3085303.html . I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Kitchen Aid dishwasher won't start. All keypad buttons/lights appear to be functional.

The touch pads are common to go bad. It could be a bad start switch pad or bad control board.

Door falls down

Sandra, You need a door link balance kit for your dishwasher door. It is part number 8194001. Google it and you will see what it is. You can get it at Sears brand central or ebay or any online appliance parts supply store. You will have to slide your dishwasher out a little to replace them. Look along the bottom edges of the right and left side of the dishwasher and you will find that one of the balance link "strings" has snapped. Yes......they use nylon string and not wire cable. Remove the bottom front black toekick panel as well. Very simple job once you gain access to the lower sides of the dishwasher. Suggest replacing both at the same time as if one broke, the other isn't far behind. Hope this helps.Tom

No water will come into the dishwasher

In the back and bottom of the machine is a valve, often it is blue in color, and it is at the end of the hose that hooks underneath your sink to the hot water pipe. The valve is usually a little smaller than your fist. That valve has a couple wires attached to it, as well as a smaller hose that lets the water go into the bottom of the dishwasher. That valve sometimes fails. If you are getting water to that valve, the valve has probably failed and needs replacement.Be blessed.

Kitchenaid kudi01ilwh2 won't start

By won't start do you mean that everything is set ok but when you press Start button then nothing happens. In that case most likely the door is not sitting properly or the door latch or door switch is faulty causing the dishwasher to not start. However, if nothing happens on the panel when you press buttons but power is there, then most likely the panel is faulty and can be replaced.you can trace the parts in these diagrams.

Dishwasher no water coming out of the arms and not

Hello Sandee, the most probable cause of no water being circulated is going to be a clogged filter on the wash pump. This youtube vidoe will show ya how to clean the filter screen/pump area http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRCCrEwrst8GENE

Our Kitchenaid dishwaser will not start.

If all other buttons are working and you can make program settings, then the door switch is not making proper contact. The door has to be firmly closed so that the switch inside the latch tells the controller that it is safe to start the dishwasher when the Start button is pressed. Try to turn the mains power to dishwasher off and back on and see if there is any difference.

Dishes are not cleaning well

I often get calls similar to this client: Over the past several weeks-months, have been getting a whitish film/deposit on pots, tops of some plastic cups, etc. You don't really see it on plates.

Typically this is caused when someone switches detergent usually to a liquid gel. It is almost always because we use too much soap.

One of my most appreciated recommendations follows:

My suggestion is to throw the liquid away and use the Cascade Complete or Finish tablets. Place one in the bottom of the dishwasher. Do not put them in the dispenser.

The reason for this is you want the soap (abrasive) at the front end of the cleaning process so that the last little bit of food that is left on the dishes (I'm assuming you are rinsing your dishes) is blasted off and then the dishwasher can "sanitize" the dishes with water that is too hot for you to handle. That is the real purpose of a dishwasher.

Keep in mind that if you rinse your dishes well before placing them in the dishwasher you can probably use the shortest cycle and save quite a bit of money on electricity and water over the course of a year.

Also, take a coffee cup and fill it half way with white vinegar and place it upright in the top rack with your next load of dishes. Do this for the next several loads and then once per month for as long as you own and use a dishwasher.
