Door Pops Open
I would make sure that the units framework is not tweaked. Poor installation and cabinet stress and warping can cause this. The unit must be level and door frame fairly square at the opening or the door will have problems as you describe, as well as opening and closing problems.
Heating element circut malfunction In Dishwasher. Wash not workin
Great job walking through the possible causes! Hey, it is time to check the heating element itself. First visually, looking for brakes and then feeling for "bubbles" on the round element rod. Also see if it moves excessivly when you wiggle.
If no problem obvious, after you disconnect the dishwasher from power, use a multimeter to check for resistance (Ohms) If none, look for broken (heavy guage) wires and replace what's broken - probably the element itself.
If the element checks out good, suspect the thermistor then the controller/PCB.
Good Luck! Please report back what you find, OK?
Replace therm fuse`
Remove the control panel.
The fuse is inside.
Remove the 6 screws on the top and middle part of the inside of the door.
Disconnect your power first.
Go gently, beware of parts coming out of place.
Door broke
Pick up some nylon rope (same diameter or slightly larger) at any home store such as Home Depot, Lowes etc.. Need to attach the original plastic ends to your new nylon rope as well as to the door spring and then re-install on the bottom side of the door. Hopefully the other rope for the door assist is still intact so you can use that side as a guide as to how to route it around the pulley. Make sure that you lube the new rope up with some Vaseline etc. My door was squeaking very bad. Seems that the rope dries out over time which could have possibly caused your to snap. Pretty bad when your $1200 dishwasher door uses a length of small diameter rope to keep your door loaded with sensitive electronic boards from crashing to the floor!!!
Cancel light and rinse only light keep blinking and wont start
Hello,
Hopefully you have resolved your issue. I have not heard of the cancel light flashing issue. I have had problems with the clean light flashing seven times over and over and the control panel will not operate. Here is the solution to that. Maybe it will work for your issue as well.
Open dishwasher door,
Push Hi Temp Scrub button,
Push Saver Dry button,
Push Hi Temp Scrub button again,
Push Saver Dry button again,
All lights on control panel will come on.
Close dishwasher door,
Push Baked on Cookware or Normal Button.
Dishwasher should start and complete cycle.
It is good if you have kids that play video games. Their fingers are used to pushing buttons quickly. I guess this resets the control board. The service guy let me have this info as I used to deliver appliances and work on them somewhat.Hope this helps.
Good Luck,
Tom
Door noise
Hello,
Common issue with this dishwasher. Easy fix though!! KitchenAid uses a nylon string that connects the hinges to the springs located along the bottom edges of the dishwasher. I had to pull mine out to perform this service. The nylon string seems to dry out and vibrates as the door opens and closes. All that needs to be done is put some Vaseline or other appropriate lubrication all over the nylon string. Especially where it passes through the roller and stationary guide. That will take care of any squeeking or grinding when opening or closing the door. Be careful as your door will now open just like it did when it was new. Now if I can only figure out how to keep my door from popping open during wash cycles!!!
Door drops when opened
your door's hinge link is broken
Pull your dishwasher from under counter (you may need to disconnect hoses and power connnections, so turn off power at the circuit breaker). Look for the broken rope-like item and replace it. Use the other side as an example on how to re-install the link. Attach link to spring, hook spring back into frame/chassis, threaded link through pulleys, attach other end of link onto door then reinstall dishwasher under counter. My replacement link package came as a pair, so replace both at the same time. The other side may still be attached and functioning, but will most likely show signs of wear.
No power
look in the control panel the door will need to be dissasembled there is a fuse in the control panel it is mounted to the side of the control its self is is actually cliped onto the black portion of the control check the fuse with a meter if it has blown then replace it 675796 or 675813 is the part number you will need it will be written on the old part it will say fsp???????
also check the wiring from the house to the dishwasher for a loose connection this can cause the fuse to blow
Bad smell in my dishwasher
try running a load through witha shallow bowl filled with vinegar on the lower shelf, this should clean out anthing built up in it. does it drain into a garbage disposer hook-up? clean that out with vinager as well if you do
Kitchenaid KDPM604KPS dishwasher stops minutes into cycle
I couldn’t find any error code 2H but I did find an error code H2O. This code means insufficient water pressure. If the display reads 2H, it usually means the start delay function is turned on. The dishwasher will turn on in 2 hours if door is closed. This dishwasher is advanced. To understand all operations you should read the user guide or manual.

What is the correct button sequence etc to do a panel reset on a kitchenaid KUDE60HXSS1
Pick any 3 consecutive keys (except Start or Cancel, then press them in the sequence 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3. The dishwasher will go through a self-test and short cycle, and reset itself.
