How do I disconnect the pull down hose?
if you were able to snap the water lines from shutoffs onto the faucet with a click, look for a small wire clip inserted into the lower/outer half of the joint. TURN OFF THE WATER, then remove the wire clip carefully and the water supply lines should come back apart. the little wire clip goes back into the slot for safekeeping till next time .

I have a single handle
hi there:) your problem is caused by the cartridge inside the valve body. could be one of 3 things...1)the cartridge is damaged 2)hard water build up 3)foreign matter. it is not to difficult to replace it yourself: first turn off the water then find the set screw, which holds the handle in place, usually located at the base of the handle and remove it. (look closely/carefully cause it's hiding) then remove the escutcheon ring and the trim sleeve to expose the "bonnet" (lock ring) and remove it. (ritey titey lefty loosey) now you can remove the cartridge and inspect it for debris/damage. if you need a new one just take it w/you to any plumbing supply including home depot and/or lowes and they will help you find it. here is the installation/owners manual from peerless:

The handle on my shower
If you have enough of a stem left, just file a flat spot on the stem where you want the set screw to stay. You might have to buy a longer set screw though. Take the old one with you and try to find a stainless one - any hardware or home-improvement store will carry them.

Shower handle will only go
That shower hardware is a temp balanced system and has limits build in to it so people like kids don't burn themselves. The limits can be changed but it is not recommended that you do so. The limit on the hot side should be no more then 110 to 115 degrees. If it is less then it needs to be adjusted and the Peerless people should be able to help.

I have Peerless single handle
If it is leaking by the threads, thread seal tape needs to be put on,wrapping clockwise.Perhaps 2 or 3 layers, from the connecting end about 3/4 of the way up the threading.I realize you say you have a single handle tub and shower faucet,so I assume you mean just 1 head for all but I am covering every scenario since your specific model # is not listed=no definite picture. If it is leaking from the shower head,it could be either the plumbing valve or the shower head valve, most likely the plumbing valve because it should be stopping water from getting there at all,if you have made sure the water is off.You probably have made sure the water is completely off at least 50 times by now though. If there is a faucet head to fill the tub up and it also leaks,it is the plumbing valve. Also,if there is no faucet head,it is most likely the plumbing valve. Are you still with me?lol If the shower head just leaks a little then stops after a couple of minutes, that is pretty normal but since you are posting,it appears to be a new problem.Either way, these valves are mechanical. They have very tight tolerances to prevent water passage and even though they are metal they will eventually wear a little. They really are built well considering the wear and tear they endure compared to how long they last.If you have any questions or need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink and reply ASAP.Good luck,Greg
