Sebo Automatic X1 Bagged Upright Vacuum Questions & Answers
Replace power cable on Sebo X4 vacuum claenaer
From memory the plastic part slides up a little, enough for you to access the wiring. I'll try and have look at work tomorrow.
Warning though! you need to do this work with the handle laying flat, the screw hole upwards - it may be already too late as there is a nut that slides away and can be tricky to get back
Light saying bag full and clogged have changed
OK - blockages are not always obvious (especially if they are deep within the flexible hose). One thing you can try is to remove the flexible hose from the top of the bag compartment and then switch on - if the red light goes out, there's a blockage in the hose. If the light stays on, there's almost certainly a problem with the main circuit board (for which you should get professional help) but that would be extremely unusual. If you need further help, please post a reply here and I'll do what I can.
Red when bag is not full
The red light will also come on when there is a blockage in the pipes leading to the bag compartment. To test that the light is working correctly, you can unplug the flexible hose from the top of the bag compartment then switch the machine on. The red light should be off, but will come on if you block the hole with your hand. If that test shows the light is working, you need to search for a blockage - which is most likely to be in the flexible hose, but can be in the rigid plastic tube or in the base of the machine (turn it over and look in the little trap-door). Clearing a blockage from the hose can be difficult - you are more likely to be successful if you can devise a way to pull it out rather than trying to push it (as with a broom handle, for example), because pushing may just compact it. Good luck!
Sebo vac grinding noise and burnt smell
Take it to your local vac shop for assessment. Sounds like a bad motor. If they are not a Sebo dealer, make sure they know that a X1 motor is not the same as an X4 motor. It should cost around $200 for the total repair . A new X4 is $799 so the repair is usually a good idea.
Height adjustment not working.
It's likely the circuit board that controls the height adjustment motor, or the motor itself. Your local sebo service center will be better able to test to see just what is wrong. Though it wouldn't hurt to take a look at the boards sometimes they're visibly burnt, or connections can be loose. Good Luck!
Our Sebo Automatic x1 will now only pick up with
The belt on the motor shaft is probably slipping off. I have the same problem and that's what I saw when I opened the vacuum. I keep putting the belt back, but it slips off again. The belts aren't supposed to stretch. I am going to call Sebo and take mine to an authorized service place to make sure that it is just a stretched belt.
How do I clear a blockage
Try removing your hose from the bag housing (pinch retaining ring and pull out) and re-inserting in reverse order. Turn the vacuum on and suck the clog into the bag. This will usually clear a clog from the hose. If the clog is in the power head (base), you can usually access it from the top side of the swivel neck or the orange access door on the bottom of the chassis.
Brush light on
Check the belt that turns the brush, either it slipped or needs replacement. You have to unscrew the bottom to take the brush roll out.
No power but lights flash
Is there a reset switch. Most vacuums have one some where near the bottom brush, to protect the vacuum from overload. If the vacuum tripped, the vacuum will not work until you've pressed the reset switch. If you can't find one, pls check manual.
Does not pick up at all there is no suction
Check that the hose is not blocked. Also check the dust channel air ways (see the orange trapdoor on the underside and push your fingers through to see if there are any debris blocking the suction.). Also check that the filter on board is clean - if it is completely dirty it needs replacing as well as the dust bag.
