Hi Tom - I located a source for you to download a copy of the manual for this timer, here. This timer has several variations - which can not be determined with 100% certainty by me from the info you provided in your question, but I believe your application is the large, bottom schematic called "Filter and Cleaner Timer Inter-connections". If a 240 volt circuit, both the power source and motor load should consist of 2 hot wires and a single bare, green or green & yellow striped ground wire. The 240 power source wires connect to terminals 1 & 3 and the 240 volt sweeper motor would connect to terminals 2 & 4. It does not matter which of the supply wires connects to terminal 1 or 3 - nor does it matter which motor's wires connects to 2 or 4. It is not possibly to change the direction that the motor turns by swapping wires in the timer. The green (ground) wires must all be connected together. I hope this was helpful & good luck!

I have a T10404R dual

1) Troubleshoot walk-thru indicates that tripper is wrong, or timer mechanism is worn out:
Check that tripper is labeled ON, and compares similarly with old tripper, and is not worn down. Trippers are made of softer metal and designed to wear out before the timer mechanism wears out.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-Intermatic-timer.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/WH-lever-005-500.jpg

2) Buy new timer mechanism: If the new ON tripper does not push the on-off lever, then timer mechanism is probably worn out.
Buy new T104M mechanism, and change out with existing mechanism using thumb spring located top inside box.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-trippers-and-parts.html#T100

3) How it works: The trippers rotate around on clock dial. Trippers come into contact with on-off lever, and trippers push lever.
On tripper pushes lever one direction. Off tripper pushes same lever other direction.
Each time the lever moves back and forth, the manual override also clicks with audible sound.
The lever moves a slide bar located on back of timer mechanism, and that action opens and closes electrical circuit.
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Back-of-WH40-2b-500.jpg

4) Since any timer mechanism can fit into the T10404R control panel, you can also buy and install T104M210 timer mechanism with fireman's switch that turns off heater 20 minutes before turning off pool pump.
For 2-speed pool pump, the digital P1353 can also be installed, and this timer would replace both timing mechanisms in the T10404R. Non-electronic timers are more reliable.

I have two 220 Intermatic

1) Order 240V T100 series clock motor.

http://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-Clock-Motor-Leads-WG433-20D/dp/B0031DOHLG

2) Order extra trippers too since they are designed to wear down so they don't damage tripper lever.
Put dab of white (bicycle) grease on the tripper lever.

3) Turn power off.
Mechanism snaps out using thumb-spring located inside box at top.
Clock motor is held with two star-screws. Buy bit at auto parts store.
Clock motor wires attach to terminals 1 and 3
Reattach terminal screws very tight against copper wire and make sure wire-insulation is not caught under screw clamp.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html
To re-set current time, lift and rotate dial until current time lines up with silver pointer.

4) See next generation of Intermatic pool timers that snap into same box.
New timer controls 3 separate circuits with different schedules for each circuit, so the single timer can replace both mechanical timers. Wiring is complicated, programming is complicated. I am still reading the manual, and it makes sense to me, so you can trust fixya to help in event that you replace your timers next ten years.

Intermatic makes a freeze protection control that wires directly into a 240V timer.
If you already have a freeze control, the wiring diagram might help.

The manual has this image larger.
It shows wiring to connect the freeze control directly to one 240V timer.
Intermatic make a freeze control for 1 or 2 circuits.

If you move the manual lever to the ON position the pump should turn ON. If the pump turns ON manually and the clock is not moving as you say, then, yes, the clock timer motor is bad.

Have a intermatic t104042 dual timer, it was wired

I'm almost sure that all T104's have 230V timer motors. You can pop out one of the motors, and see what voltage it is. Or on the label it should say what the clock voltage is. The only way to make motors run would be to connect it to 220V which could still work if you used one leg for each of your 110V circuits. GOOD LUCK

Intermatic 1725 Timer. It runs a 220v pump in SIM mode. I would like to time some 120v lights, can I do this in IND mode and have 120 and 230 volt circuits?

Reading the broad description I would have said "yes if you can identify the input and output of each separate circuit. However the description says
  • Selector switch to determine input voltage between 120-277 VAC
So you have to select the voltage on it. It appears there are also various model differences to the 1725 series designated by a letter at the end after the '5'. How do I get this timer to stop ticking? I do not want to mess with electrical wires, etc.

I would suggest you get a qualified electrician to look at this. If you've not touched it in 20 years the mechanism inside may need checking for age related faults. Even when not used some parts can cause issues as they get old.

Replaced Intermatic E-1020 and the fan won't shut off. The fan is controlled by a simple on/off switch with the Intermatic wired into that circuit.

If the fan won't shut off after replacing the Intermatic E-1020, there may be a few potential causes to consider. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue: Check the wiring: Double-check that the wiring is correct and that all connections are secure. Make sure that the Intermatic E-1020 is wired into the circuit correctly and that the fan is wired into the Intermatic correctly. Refer to the wiring diagram in the installation instructions to ensure everything is in the right place. Verify the settings: The Intermatic E-1020 has multiple settings, including time settings and override settings. Make sure that the timer is set correctly and that any overrides are disabled. Check the manual for the specific settings and instructions on how to adjust them. Test the switch: Verify that the on/off switch for the fan is working properly. Turn off the power to the circuit and disconnect the switch. Test the switch with a multimeter to ensure that it is functioning correctly. Check the fan: Verify that the fan is working properly. It's possible that the fan itself is faulty and is causing the issue. Turn off the power to the circuit and remove the cover for the fan. Test the fan motor with a multimeter to ensure that it is functioning correctly. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to consult with an electrician or HVAC technician for further assistance.

Have Intermatic EJ500 timer. Light comes on ok and when it goes off the bulb does not turn off completely. It just dims. Try to turn it off with on off by pressing on off but to no avail.

If the light on your Intermatic EJ500 timer is not turning off completely, it could be due to a faulty relay switch or a loose connection. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Reset the timer: Turn off the power to the timer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This will reset the timer and may fix any issues that were causing the light to stay on.
  2. Check the wiring: Make sure all the wiring connections are tight and secure. If any of the wires are loose, tighten them with a screwdriver.
  3. Replace the relay switch: If the relay switch is faulty, it may need to be replaced. You can purchase a replacement switch and follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation.
  4. Check the light bulb: Make sure the light bulb is the correct wattage and type for the timer. If the bulb is not compatible, it may cause the light to stay on even when the timer is turned off.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be best to consult a professional electrician or contact Intermatic customer support for further assistance.

Intermatic 1353 pool pump has freeze protection probe 178PA28A. We installed new Neptune pump with internal timer. Any conflict with Intermatic freeze probe?

That sounds like a tricky problem. I suggest you try contacting the pool guy again and see if they can provide some more information or advice on how to resolve the issue. It may be a simple fix, such as reconfiguring the settings on the Intermatic timer, or it could be a more complex issue that requires more detailed troubleshooting.

How do I wire a T104 intermatic timer on a 277v light circuit with a switch already installed?

No one appears to have tried this before as it is more often used as a Pool Timer, But what you need is the Switch and the Timer wires in parallel. So live to the timer and also to the switch, and negative to the timer and the switch. In that way either the light switch or the timer can switch the lights on and off. https://www.google.com/search?q=wire+a+T104+intermatic+timer+on+a+277v+light+circuit+with+a+switch+already+installed ..
