Replacing the spring isn't very difficult if you're mechanically inclined. You're basically removing a few screws, the front panel of the door is removed exposing only the glass part that's still hinged. The springs are exposed. Hopefully one spring is still in tack so you can see the orientation of how to put the replacement in. It's not very intuitive on how to do this part. Pulled up a schematic on this will try and help the first pic looks as though you removed the secondary switch the bottom one if so that is the wrong switch it should be a normally open switch that one is normally closed this switch goes up top on the other side of the primary switch the one with 3 terminals, look at the second pic the switch with 3 terminals that red wire in the wrong spot the skinny orange goes there the switch I just told you to put up top the red goes to one terminal the white and brown middle form the 3 terminal goes to the other terminal, the blue/white and blue go to the bottom switch this is a normally open switch if you don't know how to read a switch look at the switch look at com follow the line to where it stops if it is NO=normally open, NC=normally closed your primary switch is in the right spot you want the switch next to it to be NC and the bottom switch NO it blew the 20 amp fuse once you correct the switches and wiring and put in a new fuse if you have no power then it blew past the fuse and burnt out the filter board happens some times about 60 bucks let me know if this helps

Is this a combination built-in oven with microwave on top? And is this microwave one in which the door opens downward like a regular oven? If so, then this is a common problem for this oven/microwave combo, but replacing the spring is not a job for amatures. It takes a professional 45 minutes typically to do this job. It involves removing trim pieces, removing screws that hold the microwave oven in place, pulling the microwave out a couple of inches, and taking the door apart to get to the 2 torsion-bar springs. Replacing them is quite tricky, as is re-assembling the door. I recommend calling Sears Service (1-800-469-4663) to get a seasoned repairman to come out and fix your oven/microwave. Hi Chan Sing, If your microwave oven is brand new and under warranty then please take it to the place where you bought it from to claim for warranty. If it over warranty then try this; First off the power and unplug the microwave oven, open the screws off the cover and slightly lift and pull out the cover from the microwave oven. If you are not a technician then be care full what you are doing. After you have removed the cover then you will see that at the place you posh the door eject button, behind it there is the mechanism that opens the door when you push the button from outside. Now you have to analyse the simple mechanism if you are a non technical person, in here you will have to lift a small plastic up which we can call the lever. this is made up of plastic and it should be white in colour. One of your three door switches is bad. They are cheap. replace them all. Careful some are normally open and some are normally closed. Don't get them confused or you will get other symptoms like a blown fuse

You need to have the contractors return and troubleshoot the problem free since they told you they both worked when you purchased them. There's an implied warranty here. The two ovens should have been tested before the contractor left your house to prove they both worked together.

It sounds to me that your door switches aren't working.Your oven is protected by a couple of switches that engage when you open or close the door.They control a couple of safety features and also your interior light.One of them seems defective.

Need model number. If this is one of those built-in wall ovens with microwave on top (with the door that drops down), it is definately NOT something the average customer can do himself. I would suggest reading the manual but I beleive it means function 1

remove broken switch & replace new one w/c you can easily buy from any electronic store or Radio Shack...
