Your microwave is in demo mode, which means it will not heat. To turn it off touch and hold TIMER SET/OFF for 5 seconds until 2 tones sound and the "d" disappears on the display.
Is it a carousel (turning platter)? if it is, than it is probably dirt on the platter support wheels and the platter support groove/track on the bottom of the oven, clean the glass plate, the support wheels, and the bottom groove as well, if you want to make sure the crackling comes from the carousel system, take it all out (support and platter) than place a glass of water in the oven and start it, if there are no crackling noise than my theory is correct, if the noise is still there than have it checked by a professional technician...
If the key pad not working, then there can be many causesfor this behavior (or lack of behavior):
1. Door is notclosed - on many ovens; there will be no response to any buttons - even settingthe clock - unless the door is securely closed.
2. You waited toolong - some models (like Sharp) have a timeout. If you close the door but don'tproceed to activate any functions with a couple of minutes, they will requireyou to open and close the door to reset their pathetic brains.
3. Controller isconfused - a power surge or random non-reproducible action of the universe mayhave resulted in the controller's program ending up in an infinite loop. Pullthe plug for a minute or two to reset it.
4. Defectiveinterlock switches - this can result in the controller thinking the door isopen and ignoring you.
5. Faulty controlleror its power supply - a power surge may have damaged the electronics. Otherthan checking for bad connections and obviously bad power supply components, diagnosing this will be tough without a schematic (and possibly much more).
6. Touch pad orcontroller board contaminated by overenthusiastic cleaning - if you recentlypower washed the oven (or even if you only use some spray cleaner), some mayhave gotten inside and shorted out the touch pad or controller.
7. Defective ordamage touch pad - physical abuse is not a recommended technique for getting amicrowave oven to cooperate. If there is any visible damage to the touch pad -the outer film is broken - it will probably need to be replaced.
Also Spillsare a common cause of keypad problems, so if the keypad is not working it isimportant to check for residue that could indicate a spill. If a spill issuspected, simply cleaning the keypad thoroughly and allowing it to dry may fixteh problem. It may take a couple of days for the keypad to dry thoroughlyafter a spill has been cleaned up, so it is important to be patient.
If display is totally dead:
1. Ifall functions work normally including heating but the display is blank(assuming you can issue them without being able to see the display), theproblem is almost certainly in the controller or its power supply.
2. Trypulling the plug for a minute or two - for some reason the display portion ofthe controller may have been sent out to lunch by a power surge or alphaparticle. It wouldn't be the first time.
3. Checkfor bad connections between the display panel and the power supply and solderjoints on the controller board.
4. With everything else operational, a bad micro controller chip is not that likely but is still a possibility. If the ovenwas physically abused, the display panel may have fractured though it wouldtake quite a bit of violence. In this case, more serious damage to the doorseals may have resulted as well which would be a definite hazard.
To check the main fuse:
1. Unplug the oven and locate and remove the main fuse. Itwill usually be a 1" x 1-1/4" ABC ceramic type directly in-line withthe Hot (black wire) of the power cords.
2. If it is blown, suspect problems with the interlockswitches, high voltage capacitor, or high voltage wiring.
3. If it is good but the oven makes a loud humming soundwhen you attempt to cook, suspect the magnetron or high voltage diode.
Hope this will help you. Good Luck.
Hi,
Its a little tricky but can be done from the front. First unplug the unit, remove the top grill (above the door), then there is one screw to the control panel (remove it). Carefully, push up from the bottom of the panel to release the control, inside your should see to screws holding the interlock switches in place, if the harness is long enough you can bring them forward to inspect.
Good Luck, be safe and unplug unit first.. I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gere_bf68e6055dd61249

Hi,
On this model, item #1 is the only part you will need to invert. Lift out and rotate to allow venting to be possible to the wall. In other words, the open part needs to face the back of the microwave. Also if you removed the blower, you will need to re-install it back and correctly. You could have venting issues if not back in the proper location.

"F2" means you have a shorting
membrane keypad. If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by
itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.
So until it is repaired,
please leave it unplugged or leave the door
open when it's not in use, and of course one should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking.
On KHMS155LS-series models, the membrane keypad is not
available as a separate part, so you would have to order the "control
panel frame assembly" which comes with a new keypad.
In this case, you simply
move your circuit board into the new frame. That is a simple do-it-yourself
job. You can find
helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full
model number from the tag on the oven here. At
our Web site, we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.
Some connectors on the relays may have a lock:

Unplug the oven for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it on.If the problem persists, you need to replace keypad. This is a quite easy repair. You would take the grill off along the top
over the door. Once off you should see the screws holding the control
panel in place. Remove these screws and remove the control panel. You
will now have access to replace the part. Please be aware that the unit
stores lethal voltage even when unplugged.
F2 means the touch pad has failed, the manufacturer recommends you
replace the touch pad and if this fails to clear the problem replace the
control board. The manufacturer recommends this but the problem normally relates to the
touch pad. The control board sits just behind the touch pad so is
accessible by removing the control panel.
Hi asoleyma,
This error code F7 from a Ktchenaid oven means that the function key is stuck on ERC. This can be fixed by having the control board (also called ERC or clock) be replaced. You may contact Sears for the replacement part at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central. Just get your model number ready when you call.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.
Hello, does microwave have power? Plugged in etc, lights working on front? All microwaves have a safety backup, the door may press onto a latch which will allow the microwave to work, this is to ensure that if you open the door during cooking, it will stop immediately so you're not exposed to microwave radiation. Maid may have disrupted the mechanism for this purpose, make sure door latches are OK, and door closes smoothly, also try unplugging and then plug it in and turn it back on. Hope this may help..
The door handle can easily be replaced on MOST microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:
The average cost for a replacement handle (if required) usually runs about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided. Several of these sites also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with parts identification and how disasemble/reassemble your appliance. If you haven't purchased a new handle yet, the part number is 8184264. The door handle is a simple repair that can be done with the door in place, or with the door removed. You do not have to uninstall the oven if this is an over the range model.
NOTE: If you wish to remove the door, all you need to do on most models is open the door all the way and lift straight up at the hinges. You may have to remove the grille cover located above the door on some models to accommodate being able to lift the door.
If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.
Press
the "Off/Clear' button to cancel anything on the display, and reset the
microwave. This is a soft reset and will simply get you out of any
program you have started. Press it when the cooking complete reminder
appears on the display.
Perform
a hard reset. Pull the plug out of the wall power supply, and wait a
moment. Plug the microwave back into the wall power supply to reset
any anomalies with the microwave's memory. You will need to reset the
time of day if you perform a hard reset.
Reset
the time of day. Press the "Clock" button, and turn the dial to set the
hours. Press the dial to enter. Follow the same procedure for the
minutes and a.m. or p.m. Press the "Start" button to start the clock. This should help fix the problem.
The part you're looking for is Whirlpool number 8204662. Several sources came up from a Google search. Here's one. I've never done business with this site, but their price was the lowest of several I looked at.
