Are you replacing the entire fixture or the ballast?

To replace chain switch with a new one (available at a hardware store), first turn off power to the fan. Unscrew the nut on the bottom of the fan which holds the coverplate in place. Find two wires going to the switch, pull them out of the enclosure, take the wire nuts off. Now you can take the old switch out by unscrewing the locking nuts that hold it in place. Put the new switch in by reversing the instructions for removal.

if the ceiling fan work regularly ,it only have one wire .but it has 3 wires . so you should cut two off .which should be cutted of ..you should switch the wire one by one .ceiling light

Black goes to L2

Earthing wire ( if there is one ) goes to Com .

For starters, look at the wall switch. Are there two switches? If so, connect the black wire from the ceiling box to the black wire from the fan. Connect the red wire from the ceiling box to the blue wire from the fan. Connect white to white. At the fan, usually the black wire goes to the fan and the blue wire goes the the light.

If there is only one wall switch, you may or may not want to install a double switch so the fan and light can be controlled separately. If there is only one wall switch, most people just connect the wire connected to that switch (usually the black) to both the black and blue from the fan, not using the red at all. In that scenario both the light and the fan are switch at the fan as needed after the wall switch is operated.

Installing the extra red wire is not usual practice, someone actually was planning for future use and convenience.

The chain is easily replaced or repaired, sometimes just a drop of oil will get it slipping again. But the hardware store carries the little pull chain switches , they are a fit all. The usuall wiring for a ceiling fan is black to black, white to white , and red house wire to the other fan wire, sometimes blue. If you only have two wires from the ceiling, then it is still white to white and black to black, but add the other fan wire to the black wires ..

well most home are basic white black green and or red following black to black hot wire white to white neutral copper is your ground your red or blue is low volts older homes can be yellow or red that is for your blue red wire turn off circuit breaker to outlet or light fixure you or working on first and formost

either one all it does is complete the circuit. only one wire is broken to open the circuit when you cut it on and off you just open and close the circuit with one wire.

One black switch wire connects to the hot wire for the lights which is probably blue in color.

The other black switch wire connects to the black wire(s) going to the light bulb sockets.

this is the type of switch that attaches to one wire only do you understand?if connects to live wire to break the conection.

OK, this is easy, it just seems hard. First off, take all the white wires from the light fixture's clusters, and hook them to the white feed wire. Now take the black side of the cluster of wires, and attach them to one side of the switch. It does not matter which side. The other side, goes to the feed wire that is black or what ever feeds the light. The switch only acts as a valve for one side of the loop. I could explain why some switches have a black and white, but I will leave that alone, so I do not confuse the issue.

ONE IS NOT REALLY BLACK, YOU NEED TO TEST THE VOLTAGE WITH A VOLTAGE TESTER. tHE TESTER HAS TWO SHICKS PUT ONE ON THE GROUND(GREEN AND YELLOW) AND THE OTHER TO ONE OF THE BLACKS THE ACTUAL HOT WILL SET OFF TESTER. THAT IS YOUR BLACK THE OTHER IS THE WHITE

Connect the black wire to live. and the white wire to neutral. I hope this will help you.
