T104 is 240Volt timer with 240V WG1573 clock motor
240Volt cable has two hot wires that arrive from breaker box. These wires connect to terminals 1 and 3.
240Volt cable going to Load has two wires. These wires connect to terminals 2 and 4.
Bare ground wire connects to green screw.
If your timer has terminal A, then terminal A is not used unless you are converting timer for 277Volt operation, or some other specific wiring purpose, or if your 240Volt cable from breaker box also has a Neutral wire, in which case the Neutral connects to terminal A.
If you have different brand timer, or different model number, then add a comment with model number that shows inside timer door, and I will search for wiring diagram.
