Mr Coffee Pump Espresso machine not working.

The espresso portion may be clogged with hard water deposits, and the steamer tube with casein. Run a tank of plain white vinegar a couple of times then run a couple of tanks of plain water to flush the vinegar, Open the steam valve while the espresso portion is running and set the steamer pot under the steamer. Don't be surprised if a long white tube of hard white material slides out of the steamer valve. That's the casein, actually a form of organic plastic.

I was cleaning the coffee maker. The next day the lights wouldn't turn on, so I think water got inside it. But now it's working. Is it ok to plug it in unattended or could it short?

Dry it well. Then it *should* be fine. You might put the cm with a desiccant, like microwaved rice or those little moisture boxes that come in pill bottles. Leave it for a day or so to soak up any remaining moisture. The lights/controls of the cm actually run at a low wattage; a malfunction there should not be dangerous unless something causes the heating elements to come on. They are built to be okay if they're on with no water/dry pot, so as long as the cm is away from anything flammable--standard procedure for a cm anyway--it shod be fine even if it turns itself on. Another option, and the one I recommend, is to go buy a new cm. You should not have to worry about the antics of your small appliances. A new cm will be cheap--and safe--and would set your mind at ease.

Coffee tastes bad in old and new coffee makers

Have you tried first just running distilled water through it, then again with spring water and then test with enough coffee for 1 cup to see how the cofee taste then. Also you may want to use distilled or spring water when making that one cup of cofee to test.

Beep like its done

It sounds like the coffee exit needle is blocked. Take a small paperclip and carefully insert upward into exit needle, swirl to dislodge debri. Do this for all three of the holes in the exit needle.Run "Brew" without a KCup to see if this clears the exit needle.
