Replace fuse Kenmore 40188523011

If you know that a fuse is open, you need to find out why it went out before replacing it. There are typically three fuses in any given microwave oven. Line or monitor fuse, cavity temp fuse and magnetron temp fuse.

The model R1750 Has no power. There is power at

I expect you will find the door interlock switches caused the main fuse to blow.
Check and replace the faulty switches.

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

Need new handle on door

The door handle can easily be replaced on most microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

The average cost for a replacement handle usually averages about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided. If the model number you have this question listed under is correct, the part number for a replacement handle is 46-114897-3.

If you have any questions, please post back with your complete model number (if different than the one listed) and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Sharp R-1750 shuts down.

The shutdown you're experiencing is separate from the control unit / display issue.

The shutdown is probably due to a a loose fuse holder, loose wiring, or a problem on the inverter board or the magnetron.

If the control unit doesn't receive the proper signals form the inverter, it will shut down the cooking process, but you say it acts like it's being unplugged - that makes me suspect a loose fuse or wiring.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person attempt to take readings on these inverters.

We actually have the service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the free Acrobat Reader to view or print it in case you don't have it already.

The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics. You can also call them at 866-779-5835.

If you get the shutdown problem repaired, we'd be happy to repair your display problem for you.

Sharp microwave oven door won't close!

Normally the problem is not the spring, but a broken spring mounting tab on the door latch head (hook) assembly or the inner door panel.

If it's the door panel, it's usually easier and cheaper to use epoxy and some kind of hardware to fashion a new spring mount.

The door latch head (hook) is easy to replace or repair if that's the issue.

We have the service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the free Acrobat Reader to view or print it.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

If needed, the best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.
