I have a Vangaurd 6E720 30 gal electric hot water
If this is a new installation, make sure the unit is feed with at least 208+ volts of electricity.
If it is an older tank, try turning up the temperature setting on both thermostats. Set the top one 10 degrees higher than the bottom. If there is now change in the water temperature after a day or two, replace both thermostats. While your at it, change both element as well. A complete universal electric water heater rebuild kit should only cost around $35.

Im looking for the drain on a vanguard 3wa79 by
The drain is a plastic valve, looks like a knob with a hose fitting coming out the middle of it. It should be about 1' above the bottom of the tank enclosure.
Be sure to turn the gas off before you drain the water and fill the tank before you relight it.

Rheem 71 40d elecrtic water heater not heating
If it is an electric water heater, there is no pilot light. You could have bad elements or bad thermostats. Be careful working on an electric water heater, as most use 208-220 volts!
If it is a gas water heater, it could be a bad thermocouple, ignitor, gas valve.
My advice to you is to call a qualified service company to come repair your water heater.

Pilot won't light on Rheem Fury G 29-30
Your thermocouple is bad, that's why it won't stay lit. But you are in the right place. The thermocouple is located right in front of the pilot burner. It generaly pulls out and then you follow the copper tubing back to the valve, unscrew the fitting and it will pull out. Go to your local hardware store and purchase one about the same length and install it back in the same order. Good luck.

Pilot light wont lit up
Change The Thermostat Cause If Your Getting Gas But The Water Heater Doesn't Detect The Heat It Will Close The Valve. When Lighting You Hold The Button Down For About 30 seconds so the thermostat will detect flame and stay lit. Check To Make Sure The Thermostat Is Where It Should Be. Heres A Picture Of What It Will Look Like.
You Can Replace Them If Need Be Will Be Available At Sears Or Home Depot. Also They May Sell Them At other Local Hard Ware Stores.

We have a vanguard hot water heater, and the inlet and outlet toppings ,bolts, will not unscrew, any suggestions on getting them off?
The pipes coming out of the heater normally do not unscrew so that should not be what you are trying to unscrew. The connections to these pipes do unscrew and a 12" or larger wrench should be able to break the bond on the pipe threads and unscrew. Sometimes it helps to apply some WD-40 or any penetrating oil and then tap on the nuts with a hammer to help break up any corrosion or other bonding material that is holding the nuts.
Go to the manufacturer's website and enter your model number and click on "Support" and there should be a FAQ's, Owners Manual or other support options for you. Otherwise the website may have a "Contact" phone number to call or a way to Chat online.
