I replaced the relief valve but the hot water heater still releases water via the relief valve. Any suggestions or causes that can narrow my problem so I can resolve it. It has been leaking for a week already and still leaks to date.
lower your thermostats a bit. If your temperature is set to the hottest setting, then chances are no relief valve will do

I have 3 year old Rheem PVS50. It works fine once plugged in to power supply. After it reaches the desired temperature it shuts off also. But it does not restart/ reignite/ kick back once water is consumed and it is again below desired temperature set in thermostate. I need to remove power supply and reconnect it. then it starts again and problem repeats.
The small red LED shows "two blinks and off for a while" signal when it is not working. The LED constantly blinks when working good.
I actually just installed one of these the other day, I found that the ignitor wires were straped to the gas inlet and they were shorting out,, I wraped them with electric tape and the unit came on and stayed as for the thermostat make sure your flue is clear of all obstuctions even outside, make sure on the vent on the top back of the unit is clean and no lint or dust has built up on it, you can take a small soft brush and just sweep it across it

Rheem gas water heater it won't stay lit...will lite up and go off after 20 seconds or so. If I leave it sit for 20 minutes the exhaust fans blows but no flame and I have to turn off gas and refire up to lite. It then stays lit (on and off) for about 5 minutes than cycle starts over again. I have made sure the flame cover is installed (ventilation). Possible valve or thermostat..? Unit is 9 years old...wondering if I should just replace and if so..should I go tankless?
For the main gas valve to come on several conditions need to be met.
The system must detect a pilot light prior to turning on the main gas valve for systems with a standing pilot light (not sure what your system has) and on systems with auto igniters (spark or ceramic heat glo) the control board must detect a flame present at the main burner a few seconds after the main gas valve turns on.
The other condition that must be met on systems with power exhaust systems is a vacuum/pressure diaghram switch must be made and stay made telling control circuits that vacuum/pressure is present = power exhaust fan is on and working.
From your description it sounds as if you may have a dirty/failing flame detector (thermocouple). Remove it and give it a good scrubbing with a scotch brite pad etc. cleaning off any carbon or corrosion/gunk re-install and try it out, or simply spend $15.00 or so and install a new one to be sure. The thermocouple is the metal thin tube that protrudes into the pilot and/or main burner flame and is connected to the main gas valve by a thin capilliary tube.
To check the vacuum swich on the blower a multi meter across the switch terminals looking for a steady "state change" as the blower runs/stops will work.

Rheem Power Vent 2 water heater is flashing 4 times and there is no hot water. Model # 41VRP50NT What can I do to fix this? Do I need to call a plumber?
The flashing light is a trouble sequence light. Find your manual to see what 4 flashes means. It's usually attached to the side of the water heater tank. Try a quick fix by unplugging the power vent and see what happens.

I have a Model 41V50 Rheem water heater (50 gal. natural gas) and needs to be replaced. However, I can't find this model at any of the local stores. Has this been discontinued? If so, what can I get for a replacement?
You don't need to find the same exact model to replace your water heater, any 50 gallon water heater will do unless you have a brand specification that you like to stick with.

Rheem 22V50F1 pilot won't stay lit. Changed thermo couple & it lit, ran then went out. Let it sit overnight & it lit, ran then went out. What next? p.s. The unit is 5 years old. Thanks
If pilot lights and flame is robust and clear blue, and pilot goes out later, then some suspects can be excluded: air in gas line, low gas pressure, thermocouple is overtightened (finger-tight + 1/4 turn), thermocouple not positioned correctly in the flame, dirty pilot tube.
If flame is yellowish and small: then clean pilot tube and combustion parts.

Remaining suspects can include: air in gas line, low gas pressure, bad gas control valve, tight house so household vent fans pull air down water heater vent that blows out pilot, hot attic with inadequate ventilation, water dripping down vent.

how to remove and clean thermocouple in Rheem gas heater
There should be no reason to clean the thermocouple, but to remove it:
1. Turn off the gas to the appliance
2. Remove the 4 tubes/connections at the bottom of the gas valve
3. Remove the 4 t-20 screws holding on the burner door
4. Pull the burner chamber out

rheem water heater flashes seven times ,it is in lock out mode
You have Honeywell electronic gas control valve, and error code is 7 flashes.
Probably you have power vent model.
One manual from different company says: "Reset gas control using on-off button on front of control, replace flammable vapor sensor, replace gas control thermostat.
But with Rheem you also need specific steps: Remove gas burner and look for broken glass vial, and then blow out arrestor screen air intake using compressed air, clean burner parts, check for unobstructed venting, you will need new glass vial from Rheem depending on year and model number of water heater that appears on label on side of unit, or they may not have a repair kit for that model, and you might need a new gas control valve depending on model and how extensive problem was
You have Rheem water heater.http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-repair-Rheem-FVIR.html

Dried up everything (sensor as well). Can't get the water heater to start again (it won't as long as the error A102) is on. What can I do?
Error A102 ?
Where does the error code show on your model?
The XG50T appears to have honeywell gas control valve that flashes error code with series of blinks, and not LCD readout.

If the release of water got electronics wet, then the electronic parts likely will not function.
Release of water from TP valve means temperature of water inside tank exceeded the temperature-pressure rating of TP valve.
This is a safety feature.
Water from TP can indicate thermostat failure, or other less serious issues.

Your water heater appears to have 9 year warranty.
Serial number located on label on side of tank will have numbers- 1st and 2nd digits are week of manufacture, 3rd and 4th digits are year of manufacture,
Call Rheem since they do not post service manuals.
Other companies post service manuals and are much easier for DIYers.
