Check the current if it is over rating replace it. I am assuming you are talking about a branch circuit. If not run do not walk to the nearest electrician, you have serious problems.

if the water supply from other outlets of the house are fine, the unit itself developed some mold or other contamination from period of non use. it will need to be flushed

depending on the age it sounds like you may have to replace the unit,, insinkerator is the best on the market so when they leak it;s time for a new one ,, if not to old and under there warranty they will send some one to ifx it just call the 1-800 number on the unit

there shouldn't be a proble it actually would work less if you are getting low pressure,, but how did you come to the conclusion that it is low pressure,, do yo have a guage, you should not loose that much pressure on any fixture

Is this a new install or is this something that has just come up? If it is a new install, the amperage on the breaker is too low. You will have to call an electrician to come in and check to see if the romex wire is large enough to handle a higher amp breaker. If not, it could be that the breaker has become weak and tripps prematurely. If it's not the breaker its self then the heating element is bad on the unit.

Hire an electrician.  The breaker needs to be replaced or the wiring in your house is not able to handle it.  I believe most need 2-30amp breakers.

What if you back the temp down to say 165 or so would that not keep the plastic from frying?
Also does that model not sit ambient until hot water is needed and is not "hot" 24/7/365 as you
stated? Just wondering.

then you must have a bad earth form the element . if you put voltage in a element that should be in water you blow it in seconds . if you want to get humidity leave it to air dry .

I'm not positive but insinkerator has been making these types of units for over a decade. You can buy them from amazon

Is there any water at all coming out? If not turn the cold water tap on the hot water tank on.

Is it gas or electric?
