Leave machine plugged in to power but make sure that power is switched OFF at wall - (this will ensure that the machine is safely 'earthed'. . Open box cover - there are usually release button(s) to do this. Once computer box is open, connect anti-static wrist-band alligator clip to bare frame. The PCI-card covers are usually attached by one screw/nut: UNDO. Remove slot-cover. Insert new card into PCI-slot. Make sure it is home & replace locking screw. Remove anti-static clip. Close box.
