The incoming power wire goes onto a small pc board, the fuse is located onto that small pc board. If it is not visible then you have to remove it and turn the board around. You should locate it on the other side

The diode converts the A/C power output of the transformer to D/C, doubling the voltage to nearly 5,000 volts. This high voltage powers the magnetron to heat the food. Inspect the diode and if the diode is burned out, replace it. If inspecting the diode proves inconclusive, test it with a multimeter that uses a 9-volt battery or put a 9-volt battery in series with the diode. When the leads are reversed, the diode should only have continuity in one direction. (Warning: The microwave oven can store a lethal amount of electricity in its high voltage capacitor, even after the microwave oven has been unplugged. Due to the high running voltage and the potential for electric shock, it is extremely dangerous to replace the electronic components in a microwave. Sounds like you have a door switch that is sticking. The part for this is #DE96-00414A. Microwaves should always be worked on by a professional for safety.

Sounds like you need to replace the door switches the part number for this is 99002254. To gain access you must take the control loose. Be sure to unplug the unit before starting any work. I attached a link that may help you.

So there's a capacitor in there it's a great big dangerous and a magnatrometer which is radioactive and can hurt you too. u cant fix it and dont try transformer / capacitor /magnatrometer either or all are what is bad see the video below please leave this fix alone have a professional do it. the microwaves are very hamrful and the capacitor will kill you if you touch the high voltage terminals before properly discharging them

I am pretty sure that is a very old microwave...for example it was original equipment on a 2005 Recreational Vehicle. I am assuming you have been using that exact microwave for many years, so you are familiar with its use. If it is constantly displaying "3.5" as you say and someone has not just partially input a Time and forgotten to Cancel the Input then it sounds like a printed circuit has gone bad...
