Watch stop ticking
mcdevito75 here, There can be many, many reasons why a watch stops ticking, Have you wound the watch?? is the watch a Quartz?? when did you have it cleaned and oiled last?? how old is the watch??. You can try this, Reset the time on your watch, at times, pulling out the stem and moveing the hands will get a watch to start ticking again, primarily in older watches. If it"s a Quartz watch the battery may be dead. I do some work on watches and I'll be glad to look at the watch for you. Contact me at
[email protected] for details.

The second hand on my chronograph will not index
Try this or some variation as it worked with my new Wenger Chronograph.
Pull the crown out to the first position (for changing the date) and press the top button - one of the hands - either the big second hand, the little minute hand, or the little tenth of seconds hand - should move one notch. Keep pressing until it reaches the desired position. Now press the bottom button, same process. Pull the crown all the way out and press the top button, same process. Then if that still hasn't solved it, crown all the way out and press the bottom button. Each position should correspond to a hand, and each press should move it one notch. When settled, push the crown all the way in and operate it normally.
Be careful not to press buttons when changing the date or time, and don't bang or shake the watch too hard while using the chrono. Also, don't play with the buttons or press them one after the other too quickly.

Crystal broke
this has a simple round crystal in it that any reputable jeweler should be able to replace...shouldnt be very expensive either, if in doubt on price you should 'shop' it around until you get a price you can work with...good luck :)

Watch loses time
If your watch is brand new, then the best course of action is to return it to where you purchased it. A modern quartz watch (even the really cheap ones) should not lose time at that rate. You paid good money and got a substandard watch - take it back.

[email protected] have a Wenger compass
Hello Gordon,
Most of the times, getting the rings tend to be quite difficult, you can try to get a the type of watch that is no longer working, that way you will be able to get the O ring you need for the replacement of the fallen out one.
You can get a bad one from shops that deal on scrap collection. They disassemble and sell out the parts that are still useful. Or you can ask where you got the watch if they have any spare as its not all the watches they have that are working perfectly fine as some tend to have factory errors or get damaged along the way while being shipped.
Or you can try to check on ebay.
Hope this information was helpful to you Gordon.
Goodluck
