Repla ing the washers on a Delta faucet

First turn off water to faucet. There will either be a set screw or a screw under the cap depending on the style. Once handle is removed there is the bonnet, crescent wrench or channel locks will do the trick. With bonnet off you should be able to remove the white cap and steel ball revealing the spring and boot. That's what you replace. Reverse the order to put back together. And there you have it.

Touch faucet

Make sure your battery pack is not touching anything else except for some wood it's sitting on, and that it's at least 2" away from the walls. Also possible is that the wiring from the solenoid to the battery pack is contacting something it shouldn't.

Remove the rubber O ring (turn off Water supply at meter first), then take your O ring to the hardware store to obtain a new one. You may have to stretch the new ring under hot wster before installation, If you do not feel comfortsble doing this yourself, call an expert.

Tighten Delta kitchen faucet

If you have the two handled Delta, the cartridge itself can be replaced with a new one. The old one may have the O-ring seal deteriorating to allow it to move as you see it move. The O-ring itself can also be replaced by itself. If you have the single handle version and the seal the ball sits on is moving, the selas can be replaced, and they are simply fished out with a paperclip bent into a small L to hook the spring and seal and draw them out. If the single handle typ handle is loose it held in place by an "Allen wrench"/hex key wrench. If the handle is loose on a double handle type, just lift the "H" or "C" cap out of the handle and tighten with a phillips screwdriver. It might just be they never installed the screw.

Turn water on and it

A common but annoying problem for many people, especially those who own older homes, is a squealing faucet. The good news is that a squealing faucet is not too difficult to fix if you have the time and the proper tools. Rather than hiring a plumber and potentially paying hundreds of dollars, fix this issue yourself. In most cases, a squealing faucet is due to worn parts, such as handle threads that have lost their lubrication.

  1. Turn off your water at the source by locating the main water line and turning the valve that controls the water.

  2. 2

Plug the drain in the sink you're working in to avoid dropping any small parts and losing them. Line up all parts in the order you are removing them, which will make it easier to remember when you put them back together.

  3. 3

Pop the plastic end caps off the handles of the faucet and set them aside.

  4. 4

Locate the screws in the center of the faucet handles and unscrew them.

  5. 5

Pull off each of the faucet handles by rotating them back and forth until they come off. If they're not coming off easily, use a wrench wrapped around a rag to remove them.

  6. 6

Line the inner threads of the handle stems with silicone grease.

  7. 7

Reinstall both handles and turn the water back on. If you still are experiencing squealing, repeat the same process of removing both handles again.

  8. 8

Remove the entire valve stem by using a wrench to loosen the packing nut and pulling the valve stem assembly out.

  9. 9

Check the washer at the base of the valve stem assembly for visible damage. If it appears worn or damaged, take the entire valve stem assembly to a hardware store and find a replacement washer that fits.

  10. 10

Inspect all other parts of the valve stem for visible damage. Take the stem to the hardware store to get a second opinion if you think there may be damage to other parts.

  11. 11

Replace any necessary parts of the valve stem, and tighten all parts thoroughly as you reinstall them. Loose parts may also be a case of squealing faucets.

  12. 12

Turn the water back on once again at the main source, and your squealing faucet should be fixed.

We have a single lever

The cartridge should have pins that create proper alignment with the supply lines. New single handle faucets have limiters that allow you to control the amount of hot water. Check the limiter position. Its also possible that the cartridge is clogged with debris. Modern low flow plumbing appliances reduce flow by reducing the water passages inside the unit. Therefore they are more easily clogged.

Can't keep single hole faucet

One method that I have had good results with is to shut off water supply to faucet and remove supply lines then remove faucet from sink. Clean surface of sink and faucet base and dry completely. Get a roll of double sided carpet tape andput a couple of layers on sink covering slightly larger area then faucet base.use rubber or plastic gasket that came with your faucet and put another ptece of tape on bottom side.Put your faucet back in and tighten retaining nut as tight as you can. You can trim excess tape from around faucet base with exacto or utility knife. Hope this helps you. Have a good new year and thank you.
