My toastmaster bread machine 1142,
The next time you make your bread use the same recipe but use 2 table spoons less liquid. Having the paddle come off in the bread is not abnormal. If the bread sticks to the pan again let me know

While the machine is kneading
It sounds like your belt is slipping. All bread machine operate off of an electric motor and drive belt and they do wear out.
Do dry ingredients go in
If you aren't using the timer feature it doesn't really make any difference but normal sequence is liquids first, then salt, oils, etc., the last 2 things to add are the flour then the yeast. If you need a manual for your machine just email me at

If baking had not started then you can finish it in your regular oven. Bake it in a preheated oven for 30-45 minutes or until done. You'll know if its done if it sounds hollow when you thump it. If baking already started then you will probably have to discard it and start over.

Your pan and seal are starting to disintegrate. I have a older model toastmaster in almost new condition. If interested I can sell to you via paypal. You can try it for 7 days and if you don't like it you can return it. Let me know if you are interested. It's not a 1142, it is a toastmaster 1170S, "corner bakery" model,,,,supposed to make butter too but I don't have the little butter lid, but you could still make butter with it. Toastmasters are my favorite too. They are quiet and have heavy duty pans.

unless you are using the timer feature you can add everything at once, choose your program and push start. If you are using the timer feature let me know and I'll tell you how to handle that. As a general rule add the yeast last.
