Bushnell holosight battery goes dead
Make sure the battery you install is fresh and at full rated voltage. Even recently store bought batteries can be questionable. This will require a test meter; if you don't already have one, Tool King has battery testers for a couple bucks and digital multimeters for $10; good to have around. If this is too much of a challenge, can a friend help? Otherwise, this sounds like the battery is being shorted out. First, remove the battery and make sure the contacts are not bent, causing them to touch together. Examine the compartment it sits in for debris, corrosion, or any other contamination. If you see something, determine whether you can safely remove it without causing damage. If there is corrosion you might be able to clean it up by using a cotton swab(O-Tip) and rubbing alcohol. Otherwise, send it back to Bushnell with a description of the problem. Be as accurate as possible, including the circumstances under which it occurs. Include your name, address, and a number where you can be reached. They'll take it from there. They may call you if they have any further questions, and, if you feel the sight failed without reason(dropping it, soaking it with cleaning solution or lubricant, etc) let them know, and they may repair/replace it under warranty. Sometimes companies experience problems because of poor design, bad manufacturing or componentry that fails prematurely.
