Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

How to stamp the date
The camera will not deface your pictures by scrawling a set of digits across it. You can have the date appear when you print the pictures. Please refer to the documentation for whatever program you're using to print.
If you're printing from the camera using a PictBridge-compatible printer, you can set it to print the date by selecting PRINT ORDER (DPOF) from the Playback menu and then selecting "WITH DATE". It's detailed in the "Printing Pictures via USB" section of the manual (page 43 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one at

My camera says zoom error?
Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair
center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.
You can also have a look at THIS link.
Hope
the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need
any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you
found this helpful.

Andrea
How to down load pictures to computer
Most cameras have a cable that connects between the camera and a usb port on your computer. Read the instructions. If you can't find them, I'd turn the camera off before you make the connection. Then after 15 seconds or so if the camera doesn't turn on by itself, you can turn it on manually.
Your computer probably has some software that will volunteer to help you down load the camera at the point. If nothing hapens you have two choices. The official method is to use software that should be on a disc that came with the camera.
If you aren't able to use anything already on your computer AND you know how work with windows views of files in folders, bring up the window for "My Computer" or "Computer" from the Start Menu, and navigate to the correct drive, probably something with the letter "E:" or higher.
Can't give you more specifics, based on what I know about your situation.
Battery Charger
Hello,
A. Have you checked these first?
1. Is the battery correctly inserted?
2. Is the battery in correct orientation?
B. May be your battery fabrically is not NORMAL.
Your battery NP-45 must be checked. You should control and be sure that your battery is in good condition.
1. You may do it by this way:
You can do it practically by going to the nearest store and take a new battery from there for only checking. When you go to the store please want a permission from them to check your battery. It only takes a minute. When you place a new battery to your BC-45B charger. If the led turns yellow or green but your battery does not do the same then it means your charger is in good condition but your battery is out of order.
2. Also you may do it by another way.
Check your battery with a multimetre if have one and know how to use it.
C. Please buy a new battery and replace with your old one. I looked on internet for you where you can buy from a chipest and a trusted place. On ebay.com it is sold. Please open ebay.com and write on the seach box 370357190515. It is sold from a trusted seller with shipping FREE.
I think your problem will be solved by changing your battery with new one.
If your problem is not solved. Please feel free to contact me again.
Best Regards
Received JV100 as gift. I'm trying to copy manual
Part of the problem might be that the latest Mac laptop is Snow Leopard 10.6. You must have a laptop from the future!! :) Just kidding!. When you insert the cd, it should appear as an icon on your screen. You can right-click and choose "copy" and pick your desktop as the destination. That way, it's handy for reference.
J100 Battery Does Not Work
your battery is a NP45 Li ion ... even if it seems to charge ok it still could be bad ... if you can substitute another battery to make sure ... borrow one from a friend or take it to the place you purchased it and see if they will just try one of their batteries .. or you can see if it will work while its plugged into the charger ... if it does then its likely the battery needs replacing ..
