Canon PowerShot G10 Digital Camera - Page 2 Questions & Answers
How can I get my g10 to print date and time on each picture
The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo management program.
Card locked
SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Lens error in a Canon G10
Try restarting it a couple of times. If that doesn't make the error go away, the camera needs to be serviced. There is a really good site and all they service are Powershots. They are wonderful if you need to get service for one of these Canon Powershot cameras and they are really reasonable for the cost. Your problem is on their site. Try going to: www.camerasandparts.com Look at their service and repair and you should see it there. They are amazing for service on these models. Having gone nearly two months without a response to my query, I assume my suggestion to use a card reader solved the problem.
