to your question about how to download music: 1. turn on the mp4 player 2. plug it into your computer's USB port 3. An icon for the folder will come up on "My Computer" 4. using Windows Media Player, select "rip" music from cd 5. in "options" just save it into your computer in mp3 format (this makes a useful backup to save time if you have probems later) 6. Then copy the folder that contains the music from your computer to your mp4 player. 7. Unplug computer, check files run on your player
You can use a MKV video converter to convert the other files to it.I use a MKv converter to do that.you can click it for further information.you can deal with it easily.
You cannot drag and drop music from an audio cd to your computer. You need to rip it. Use itunes or windows media player. Look for the option to "Rip" music from the CD.Rip using media player:
Time Setting Sets the time and date of the player. to adjust the values and then press the VOL button to move to next selection. When all values have been adjusted press the Menu button to accept and return to previous menu.
I just got one for Mother's Day and managed to get songs onto it and 2 photos but that's it. I have spent all day trying to get it to talk to the computer but without any luck. I'm in Australia too but it should have nothing to do with it.
if it doesn't work on my lappy, I'm returning it for a refund. No good keeping something that doesn't work.

If your Laser MP4-V970 has stopped working, it might caused by a battery issue. You probably let the battery run out one too many times. There are several ways on how to diagnose if you have a battery issue or you have a connection problem. Please follow the steps below for additional troubleshooting.
1. Check if the device has been corroded. --> sometimes the inside of the case has been corroded that makes the connection won't make it through.
2. If it's corroded, use a soft or damp cloth and put some rubbing alcohol to really clean it well.
3. If cleaning the device didn't work, then most likely you have a battery issue. If the device is still in warranty, I recommend to contact the manufacturer so they can set up a repair for free.
Normally you need to convert your video files before transferring them to the player.
Have you got the softward disc for it? A converter should be on it. Otherwise a free converter can be downloaded, if you google for it. Small free programs like 'DoremiSoft Free AVI to MP4 Converter 1.0' and there are a number of others that could do the trick also. Good luck.
i have the same problem but this mp4-q12.4g is rubbish becoz the buttons are noisy the music has bad quality and cant put videos on so you should not have bought it any mp3/mp4 is better than this one that is why i want a ipod nano
It's easy. Use a usb cable and connect it to your computer. It will now show in My Computer as a drive that you can drag and drop files into. Anyway, here is the manual if you want it http://www.laserco.com.au/support/user_manuals/V970_Manual.doc
You should have received a data/charging cable with it. Plug it in to a USB port on your computer. The computer should recognize it as an external data device like a thumb drive, and you can copy music to it.
The computer may need a driver to tell it what it's looking at, and if one is required it is usually provided on a CD that came with the player.
