I had this issue and I thought it was dirt or something underneath the button. I took the phone apart and found the problem. Turns out it was dust or built up dried condensation on the motherboard where the ribbon cable that connects the buttons. Look for the youtube video on how to take apart the phone and it's the connection on the bottom of the phone to the right. and just use some alcohol and q-tips to clean the connections.

Remove the back cover and battery of the device. Set the battery aside and look inside the phone. In the lower right hand corner near the gold prongs there is a circle sticker. It will be on the side wall of the device. If the sticker is red, your phone has been exposed to water damage.

g1 keep cutting off when im using the phone and turns it on and it cut back off and after charge phone it work right for a minute and turn back off

Format your card in pc. Use FAT format.(No FAT32 or NTFS). Then insert it to your phone and do format again. Then restart.

Exactly how are you locked out? If you're stuck on the lock-out screen with a lockout pattern that you've forgotten? If that's the case, the G1 manual indicates the following:
"When you fail to draw the correct unlock pattern on the screen after five attempts, you will be prompted to wait for 30 seconds before you can try again. If you forgot your screen unlock pattern, touch Forgot pattern. You will be prompted to sign in using your Google Account name and password, and create a new screen unlock pattern before the Home screen displays."

Calibrate the g1 touch screen on the device by going to Start>Settings>System Tab>/Screen then Click Align Screen If you cannot get to the Screen Alignment utility using the menu’s, it can also be accessed by pressing the Volume Up and Center Navigation Buttons at the same time.
