Everything is working fine except the operating system (firmware). A clear case of corrupted firmware. Please get the firmware reinstalled. And you will find that all your problems have vanished. The reason could be a virus or incorrect switching off or powering it on on low battery when the phone switches off on its own. Anything. But reinstalling is the answer.

You should be able to plug it into your computer, then drag and drop files similar to the process with flash drives.

If this fails, you can always send them as an email to yourself.

Yes these ports can be replaced, but special equipment is needed to do so. You will have to take to or send your phone to a repair center. Check with your local phone store, they can probably tell you if anyone in town repairs them. At my shop we usually charge between $35 and $40, so it should be somewhere around there.

try to buy a new sim. maybe it's not compatible with your phone.

Okay the thing here is you need to master reset it.
Here's how it works:

1. Power off the G1
2. Hold Home Key + End key for 20 seconds or until you see a "triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1"
3. Open the QWERTY keyboard and hit Alt+W
4. Restored!

To do a soft reboot, simply hit the Home+Back buttons when you reach the "triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1" screen.

This will reset your phone as if it were brand new and your correct user name and password combination will work.

I actually work at a T-Mobile corporate store, the first question i have is if you take the battery out is the sticker in the back completely white? The second question is is there any noticeable physical damage to your phone. If both the answers are no then you can dial 611 from your phone and ask them to do a warranty exchange assuming its been less than a year, because the phone was release late Dec 2008. You will have the option of free 7 day ground shipping, but if you tell them "ive been a long time customer" they might even waive off the express fee:)

If you can't get a replacement under warranty there is both an T-Mobile G1 Repair Guide and a third party T-Mobile G1 Repair Service, If you try a self-repair make sure you feel comfortable with opening devices like that.

If you enter wrong password for more then 5 times,it ll ask you to enter the puk number....now call your customer care and
get the puk number...enter the puk number in the space given for password....thats it...problem is fixed
If you had locked your mobile then update the formware all saved passwords will be deleted

I must say this is legal soc any probs get them from your provider

If you forgot you can generate master code using your IMEI, which can be viewed by pressing *#06# and keying that in the link mentioned below,,

If cleaning and checking the battery terminals doesn't work, you may have a broken motherboard. The T-Mobile G1 logic board is nottoo hard to replace. A good source for the part would be ebay. Thereis a step by step guide too that explains how to replace the board : T-Mobile G1 repair. There are also third party T-Mobile repair companies that do it for you.

If you paid the insurance of $5 every month then you can pay the $100 deductible and get a brand new one. Or maybe try sending it to T-Mobile. But only if you had the insurance. Otherwise your SOL.

Please contact the helpline of DOCOM. They will tell you the sms settings. generally it happens automatically. I keep switching between Airtel and BSNL and have not faced such problem ever and it is over four years.

the problem is that your chip is probably cracked and it is not allowing your screen to show up

put your song onto a memory card and hen if your phone takes a memory card insert the memory card into your phone and your song should now be in your phone

Contact your service provider and request your unique PUK code..

Does the card "read" in a computer, or other phone? There the steps to try first, Also make sure its of a capacity the G1 supports, if the card does read in another device then your phone needs looking at, maybe try a freinds card in your phone? also if your card doesnt read in other devices, then your card looks like it is faulty.
