transfer my contacts from nokia phone e 51 to my HTC Touch HD
There are few tools to have. A usb cord, your PC has Bluetooth and pair with you N51 via bluetooth. Have the free software, "Nokia PC Suite". Download it from www.nokiausa.com/PCsuite. It's a free download. Once downloaded, restart your computer. (without the phone connected) Connect. It'll give you easy step by step instructions to transfer contacts to the computer. Plus, other multimedia you may have on your device. Very handy!! Then, just use Active Sync or any software you got with your HTC Touch HD. It can sync you contacts from Outlook onto the new phone. This is nice, in case your phone would crash, break, or the worse stolen. Your contacts are all backed up on the PC.
Always take a look at www.htcwiki.com for the best tips & tricks for your HTC device and software updates. A lot of times they will even post known issues and work arounds.

When I try to connect my HTC touch Hd with my PC thru activesync, it comes out with message ''cannot connect''. Although I tried to auto trouble shoot it, but to no avail and the same message is displayed all the time. Please help.
1. Go to the settings.
2. From the options of Personal, System, & Connections, chose connections.
3. Tap on USB to PC icon.
4.
Here lies the demon. There is a small box with lengthy explanation line
(probably automatically ticked) which says "Enable faster data
synchronization" you just need to uncheck it and tap on ok.
Now the activesync will start working.

The problem:
Got my phone for about 2 weeks now and it worked great till yesterday evening. Before yesterday I added music with active sync and already listened to it too. But yesterday I added some more, simply to update my playlists, exactly the same way as before and after it was done my phone couldn't find any of the files. Not the files I added before, which the phone recognized earlier, nor the files I added yesterday.
I checked if they even were on the Micro SD and they are, so I tried to open them with the program MP3-trimmer, and that works perfectly fine! (for those who don't know: mp3 trimmer is a program to make a ringtone of your mp3's)
So they are on the Micro SD and my phone knows (MP3-trimmer find them) but the music player does not find it!
Has anyone got a solution or the same problem, please let me know!
If you go to Library, all songs (the treble clef - 5th along) and see if they're there... If they are, play one, then go back out and they should all appear.

My new HTC touch HD is kinda heating up too fast. After just 1 hr talk straight talk, its really heated up. Is this normal, or is there something wrong with my battery or my phone itself.
And aslo the battery takes too much time to charge fully. Could someone help me out, Thanks...
dont forget you should be closing off the programs in the top right hand corner (pressing home or changing program doesnt close the program so make sure you are usually only running about 50%) and yes it is normally hot my friend and i both have one and we have already seen that both our hd's are quite hot on the back but not scorching... the bat should take up to 4 hrs most to charge off a wall and with regular txting and small (1-10 min calls) a couple of times a day and a little bti of web browsing the phone bat should last a day least.... (again make sure in setting wifi is off when not using and under settings/connections tab/com manager that this is all turned off (just to make sure)) especially remember that even closing the web browser in top right hand corner can leave 3g running so click on the 3g icon (depending on provider) on the top tab and disconnect it (also save u data usage)) atm im running for about 2 days off a charge at least and all i have done recently is reflashed my rom off the htc web site and whenever not suing the phone put it to sleep using the top power button (one press but im sure u all no).
Hope this helps! :D (great phone when you learn how to work it!)

My HTC Desire HD has just frozen. The screen is now black and no buttons work. When I connect it to the battery to the mains I get the coloured welcome screen for a few sceconds but then it goes black again. Any ideas?
Hello,
Please reset the mobile ,
Resetting Your Device
Soft reset
Occasionally, you may need to reset your device. A soft(or normal) reset of your
device clears all active program memory and shuts downall active programs. This
can be useful when your device is running slower thannormal, or a program is not
performing properly. A soft reset is also necessary afterthe installation of some
programs. If a soft reset is performed when programs arerunning, unsaved work
will be lost.
To perform a soft reset
1. Remove theback cover.
2. Use the stylustip to press the RESET
button located between the SIM card
and the storage card slots.
Your device restarts and displays the
Home screen.
Hard reset
You can also perform a hard reset (also known as a fullreset). A hard reset should
only be performed if a normal reset does not solve asystem problem. After a
hard reset, the device is restored to its defaultsettings-the way it was when you
first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs youinstalled, data you entered,
and settings you customized on your device will be lost.Only Windows MobileĀ®
software and other pre-installed programs will remain.
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Make sure thatany
additional installed programs and/or user data have beenbacked up before you
perform a hard reset. Managing Your Device
Important IfEncrypt files when placed on a storage card is enabled, backup all files from
the storage card before using Clear Storage, hard reset,or updating the ROM
system software. Otherwise you will no longer be able toaccess the encrypted files
on the storage card. Use ActiveSync or WindowsMobileDeviceCenter to transfer
files between your storage card and computer. After theprocedure, copy your files
back to the storage card.
To perform a hard reset
1. With thedevice turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME
DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continuepressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see
this message on the screen:
This operation will delete
all your personal data,
and reset all settings to
the manufacturer default
settings. Press VolUp
to restore manufacturer
defaults, or press other
keys to cancel.
3. Release theVOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press theVOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other
button to cancel the reset.
Hope this helps.
If you are helped you can rate on the 4 thumbs and leave a short comment, because,
this is the free side and I can get the chance, to help people like you .
Thanks for using fixya .
