knocking in crankcase at lower RPM has 38000km. Thinking timing chain or oil pump I wouldn't drive it anymore could be a spun bearing or bad connecting rod ready to **** out a wrist pin.

...rod big end bearing, the balancer could be going bad, wrist pin may have worn out the pin mount holes in the piston, or piston slap. The underlined problems are the most likely. Please rate my

...wrist pin to piston clearance,rod bottom bearing clearance, very unlikely the timing chain has any kinks with a chain tensioner set properly...a loose chain could make some noise so check the tension ...

...you may have a rod bairing gone bad. If you hear it at the top end of the motor then you have a wrist pin or piston slap. Eather way you will have to remover the motor and disasemble it to repair
