split the case in order to get to the forks and shift drun . The shift drum  may have a bad tract that  guid the shift fork and also will caus sevior shift problems   if drum is damaged

try it and see you could even try changing your oil..cleaner oil seems to help when i have problems shifting, but you either have a bent shift fork, damaged shift drum, or damaged shift lever assembly
