LG RH177 DVD Recorder/HDD Recorder "player fuse" Questions

...I heard a loud pop from the player. Opened cover and fuse had blown (1.6A 125V). Replaced with 2A 200V fuse and it blew right when player plugged in 2X. Did lightening ruin it? Unfortunately yes

player states it's a 9-12V so I am using a 1Amp Fuse and have the DC Adapter set at 9V. What am I doing wrong? It blows in a matter of minutes. Isn't the 1 amp fuse too small? Usually 12 volt operated
