Hi, I've got a 2015 motor home on a Ford F53 chassis with a Triton V10. Engine goes into limp mode on the road.
- NOT SCANNING THE PCM IS YOUR PROBLEM
YOU CAN NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEMS LACKING SUCH A TOOL..
CAN NOT
FOR SURE THE WHOLE DRIVE TRAIN, PCM ,EFI, AND TRANSMISSION.
BOTH THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSIONS HAVE LIMP MODE.
ONLY SCANNING TELLS YOU IS IT TRANS CODE OR ENGINE CODE.
AND TELLS YOU A DTC ERROR OF 100'S THERE.
NO CLUSTER ON ANY CAR WILL SHOW ALL CODES. POSSIBLE
MY JEEP DOES ONLY
P0*** CODES. NOTHING MORE
CALLED THE USA FEDERAL BASIC CODES. ONLY.
AND IS MOSTLY USELESS. TO ME. SO
- BUY
- BARROW
- OR RENT THE TOOL
- OR DO AS 99.9% DO , GET IT SCANNED IN A REAL SHOP.
LIMP MODE ON JUST THE ENGINE MEANS.
ENGINE EFI SENSORS DEAD. (ANY OF THEM)<< ALL OF THEM.
TWB THROTTLE BY WIRE PARTS HARD FAILED.
BEST YET THIS 2015 YEAR PCM IN THIS RV IS VERY SMART
AND THAT MEANS SCANS ARE 10X MORE DEEP AND MORE ACCURATE AND HELPFUL. UNLIKE YEAR 1996 FIRST YEAR USA.
WHAT IS SAD IS YOU NOT SCANNING SUCH A SMART PCM
TRULY SAD.

1976 dodge f40 sportmann rv can put gas in carb starts up but will not any other way
If your 1976 Dodge F40 Sportmann RV starts up only when you put gas directly in the carburetor, there might be an issue with the fuel delivery system. Here are a few things you can check:
- Fuel Pump: Check if the fuel pump is working correctly. Listen for a buzzing sound when you turn the key on (without starting the engine). If you don't hear anything, the fuel pump might be faulty, or there might be a problem with the electrical connection.
- Fuel Filter: Check if the fuel filter is clogged. If it's been a while since you replaced the filter, it might be clogged with debris, preventing the fuel from reaching the carburetor.
- Carburetor: If the fuel pump and filter are working correctly, the issue might be with the carburetor. Check if the carburetor is dirty or clogged with debris. You may need to clean or rebuild the carburetor.
- Ignition System: If the ignition system is not working correctly, it might not be providing enough spark to ignite the fuel in the engine. Check the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and distributor to ensure they are in good condition and functioning correctly.
If you're not comfortable checking these components yourself, it might be best to take your RV to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
