Check for fuses connecting the inverter. There are typically two visible on the exterior (20 or 30 amp blade style). If either or both are blown, you will get faults. Something else you may want to check is the incoming voltage. Power surges and voltage drops in L1 or L2 of the 50 Amp shore power could also give inverter faults.

SOURCE: LCD causes self-test to fail

Looks like you have a shorted IC ot transistor on the LCD layer of the panel.

If you remove the screws from the back of the panel and look underneath, you will see the circuit the main board plugs into. Usually there are a few components on this pcb that can go bad. Replacing them is a little hit and miss. If you can identify the component, you might stand a chance. I had a unit do this, and when I looked at the lcd pcb there was a shorted smt transistor. It was burnt, but I was able to remove it without damaging the board.
I managed to replace it twice with two similar transistors, but the panel still caused the power circuit to cycle when I plugged it in. Although I couldn't find any other shorted parts, the small smt ICs on the board could have had internal shorts, or the transistors I used to substitute were completely wrong for the circuit. Since the original transistor was burned, I could not identify it in any way.

The only hope for your monitor is to identify and replace the bad smt component on the LCD board, or replace the lcd layer itself. I've done this a few times, but it requires another of the same panels, one with a bad backlight perhaps. If you are careful enough, you can remove the metal frame assembly from the panel (there are usually four screws, two on each side). You will have to "unsnap" the outer frame from the inner frame all the way around the outside.
Do this to both panels, and place them face up on a desk or bench. Carefully unwrap the ribbon cable and remove the entire lcd layer. Do this a second time, only place the working lcd layer over the working backlight assembly. Make sure the lcd layer seats snugly in the frame and wrap the ribbon cable over the top. Reinstall the outer frame. You have to make sure everything stays aligned as you snap the outer frame back into place. Reinstall the screws. Now you should have one perfectly good lcd panel. Keep an eye out for a panel with a bad backlight.

SOURCE: 2001 passat has loss of power, shaking and check

i had this problem on my 2002 passat. it was the ignition coils. first set were replaced in 2002 as a vw recall. second set (at 122K miles) were relatively inexpensive to fix. just one failed but it made the engine run really rough - my mechanic was able to move it from one cylinder to the next to get the problem to repeat.

SOURCE: air conditioner tries to start but kicks back out

Hi. are you saying that the unit tries to start up....do you mean the compressor only or that the unit does come on fan and all, runs for a short time and shuts off completely?? I just need to no what it is doing on start up before it kicks out, this would be very helpful in solving this for you. If it trips the breaker or not or does anything at all run for a second. Please let me know and I can have a solution for you. Thank You.

SOURCE: How to fix get electrical power to a 2001 town and country control panel.

You have to get hold of a test light and start checking fuses and wires for power. Check relays.

I have a Xantrex RV2012 in a 2006 Newmar Ventana motorhome. When plugged in its always searching for AC when you disconnect battery cables to reset it seems to work fine. What could be the problem.

Use a multimeter to check the input AC voltage (110-125VAC), the fuse(s) for the DC out and the voltage (12-13.8VDC). Have the batteries disconnected when doing this and check the battery voltage(s).

If your batteries have low voltage and the output is into correct range, you may have dead cells. This has been my findings on many units, which means battery replacement. Make sure your get a MARINE DEEP CELL or DEEP CYCLE battery, not a regular car battery. Clean out replace the battery terminals well when installing new ones and use the battery terminals grease that it should come with liberally for future corrosion protection.

If your input voltage does not match the voltage coming from the shore power connection, check the continuity of your power cable.

If your input voltage is in the proper range but the output voltage is not, your inverter may be faulty and in need of repair or replacement.

Lost 120 volts on coachmen Somerset dreamcatcher 32.5 while hooked up to power pole. still have 12 volts.all converter fuses and power panel circuit breakers good. Power from pole is good.

First, I'm not a Coachmen RV Tech. (but most DC to AC inverters are not brand specific.)
* Check inverter fuse (on actual inverter frame). Replace.
* Check DC voltage at inverter. Should be 12 (or 24 VDC) depending on your system battery supply and inverter.
* Check the DC cable connections; crusty, dirty? Cut all power. Remove and clean terminals. Re-connect and check.
* DC okay? Check 110 VAC power at output of inverter. No power? Replace inverter. (possible power spike damaged it or it over heated)
* 110 VAC okay? Check the power panel breakers. If stuck in middle then turn all the way off to reset and turn all the way back on to activate. Check AC power at outlet(s)
* Still no power (at outlet)? Check all outlets. If some still works then there is a problem with the power (wires) distribution. You will need an electrician to trace the wires back to the break in circuit.
* Be safe. check your warranty and call for service.
* Note; your inverter may be on a separate warranty.

Why is electrical panel flashing EO5, the OL?

That means overload on most RV inverter panels. something is drawing too much power or you have a short on the load side.

I have no lights, only carbon monoxide dectector and water pump work with battery power. With AC power, no outlets or lights. Any help would be appreciated.

Look for a GFCI (2 pushbuttons) on one of your electrical outlets. push both to see if they'll reset. Also, look for your fuse panel and see if you might have a blown 12v fuse for the lights.

We have electricity to operate the microwave and plugs but the lights are operating off of the batteries. Is this a converter problem? If so is it a fuse on the converter? Doesn't appear the aux...

The microwave and outlets are on a 115-120vAC source running through the breakers box. The lights are 12vDC running through the converter then to the fuse panel. Locate the inverter in the compartments up front, possibly behind a panel that can slide or screws to hold the panel. Depending on the Mfr if the inverter, you should see a blade style buss fuse on the side, typically near the 12vDC output. Use a multimeter to check for the 120vAC input and 12vDC output. AC power-yes and DC power-no, check the fuse, replace if necessary. If the fuse is good, the inverter has blown and needs to be replaced. If you have AC & DC power on the inverter, go to the batteries and check for voltage without the inverter supplying power. Pull the fuse off the inverter or switch the battery disconnect switch. If the batteries have little to no voltage, cells may be dead. Take the batteries to a local auto parts store to get checked to see if the battery needs a charge or replacement.
